About

I need a reliable WordPress pro to rebuild my existing site into a clean, modern, high-converting layout using my new design system (dark theme, glass accents, serif headings, amber/steel-blue gradients). The site already works; your job is to implement the new UI, port all content without breaking SEO, improve performance, and make sure forms/deliverability are bulletproof. I must be able to edit pages myself afterward (no custom code wall). PRIMARY GOALS 1) Professional, minimal, conversion-first design that matches my provided style guide. (i can give you CSS to reference from) 2) Preserve and improve SEO (URLs, metadata, schema, redirects, internal links). 3) Fast, stable, mobile-first site with excellent Core Web Vitals. 4) Reliable forms that route to my real inbox (no missed submissions). 5) Keep monthly paid software subcription tools to near-zero; favor free, well-maintained plugins. SCOPE OF WORK • Set up a staging environment, clone current site, and work there. • Implement my design system (fonts, colors, gradients, glass cards, chips, buttons) as a child theme or custom plugin so it’s update-safe. • Rebuild key pages with the new layout + copy(i already have the layout and copy, I just need you to implement it and look good): - Home (open sections + one glass newsletter card, credibility strip, “Choose your path” sub-cards) - Start Here (router + email capture with intent) - Products index + Product detail pages (on-site SEO page that links to Gumroad for checkout) - Blog index + Post template (ToC, content upgrade form, related product) - Services (two offers + short intake form) - Contact (solid deliverability + optional attachment) - About • Content migration: port all existing CMS pages/posts, slugs, categories, tags, media. • SEO-safe launch: - Keep same URLs where possible; create 301s if any change. - Maintain titles, metas, OG images, canonical tags. - Add/verify schema for Person, Article, Product where appropriate. - Submit updated sitemap; check for crawl errors. • Performance: - Compress/convert images to WebP, set proper sizes, lazy-load. - Minimize plugins and JS; defer non-critical scripts. - Caching & page optimization with free tools. • Forms & email: - Replace/repair current forms; so emails land in inbox. - Store submissions in WP database as a fallback. • QA: - Mobile, tablet, desktop breakpoints. - Accessibility basics (contrast, focus states, landmarks). - Test all internal/external links, embeds, and forms. PREFERRED STACK (open to your suggestion if it stays WordPress + easy to edit) • Theme: I have been using Astra or move to lightweight, block-friendly theme (Kadence/GeneratePress/Astra) with a child theme. • Builder: Prefer native Gutenberg + block patterns for longevity (minimize Elementor). If Elementor remains, keep it lean and consistent. AS long as I don't have to subscribe monthly to edit and can implement all the design stuff I want, I am good. • Forms: reliable free form builder (no monthly fees). • SEO: Currently using YOAST or something else – keep whatever I am using • Performance: LiteSpeed Cache (if server supports) or W3 Total Cache; WebP via Image Optimization plugin; Code Snippets (for small helpers). • Email: up to you. DELIVERABLES / ACCEPTANCE • Staging link for review; documented plugin list and reasons. • Reusable block patterns (hero, glass card, router tiles, credibility strip, newsletter card). • Clean page templates for all page types above. • Forms working + configured + email tests passed. • Core Web Vitals targets (mobile): LCP ≤ 2.5s, CLS ≤ 0.1, TBT/INP well within green; Lighthouse Perf ≥ 85. • SEO preserved (no 404s for old URLs; 301s in place; sitemap updated). • Short loom or doc showing how to edit pages, create new ones, and use patterns. NOTES • I’ll provide the style guide and CSS tokens/design system and copy you can use if you want • Keep my ability to edit pages without touching code. • Minimal monthly costs; prioritize free, reputable plugins. • potential Ongoing work available for new pages and content updates after launch. Thank you!
