- Moody and Associates, Inc. (Moody) has been providing professional environmental services to the area for over 130 years. As a Wetland Delineation Specialist, you’ll join a team of enthusiastic environmental professionals.
- This is a mid-level position with primary responsibilities to complete project-required tasks in the field and office. The location of this position will be remote but will report to and occasionally travel to the Athens office as needed or required.

- Requirements
Responsibilities include
- Conduct field surveys to identify and delineate wetland boundaries using standardized methodologies.
- Analyze soil, vegetation, and hydrology to determine wetland status and boundaries.
- Prepare detailed wetland delineation reports, including maps, data sheets, and photographs.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other mapping tools to interpret and present data.
- Conduct site assessments and environmental impact studies related to wetland areas.
- Stay updated on current wetland regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Collect field samples of water, soil or other media in accordance with standard industry practice or according to Moody standard operating procedures.
- Documentation of field conditions of media such as soil, groundwater, surface water, bedrock, air quality (gases), stream substrate and biological media.
- Assemble, operate and maintain field instruments and equipment.
- Prepare notes, sketches and site maps.
- Complete entry and quality assurance/quality control tasks with large quantities of data produced from field activities.
- Analyze data.
- Assist in the preparation of report figures and graphs.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Possesses problem-solving skills.
- Communicates effectively in written and verbal mediums as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Ability to work individually or with team members.
- Follows company and client mandated safety rules/practices and is safety conscious at all times.
- Follows company and client mandated Drug & Alcohol Policies, and is able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Dependable (regular attendance necessary)
- Prepare notes, sketches and site maps.

- Perform additional responsibilities at times, if necessary, to achieve project and/or company goals.
Requirements include
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or related field.
- At least 4 years of demonstrated experience with wetland delineation, stream assessments, habitat surveys.
- Familiarity with the 1987 ACOE Wetland Delineation Manual and Regional Supplements.
- PWS Certification
- Stron technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work extended hours when needed.
- Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

WORK SCHEDULES
- Average 40-45 hours per week as required. Weekly schedules may vary based on business demands. Schedules are typically confirmed during the workweek (Monday - Friday) during normal business hours but may include occasional weekend work to meet client demands.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Field work will be required and employees must be able to perform physically demanding tasks working outdoors in adverse environmental conditions in all weather conditions (e.g., rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures, inclement weather, etc.).
