- Description
- CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a seasonal Warming Center Manager. The Warming Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational needs of the center, ensuring the completion of all program objectives, adherence to agency rules and regulations, and the safety and cleanliness of the center. The Warming Center provides emergency overnight shelter for the unhoused from November through March. The Warming Center provides a warm safe place for unsheltered individuals to spend the night during the winter months.
- Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the center’s operational day-to-day activities including development, planning, and implementation of all program components; building operations and maintenance oversight; community monitoring; and all other center activities.
- Supervise through delegation to the Mentor team, all guest activities ensuring the timely response to questions and concerns are completed in accordance with requirements, rules, and regulations.
- Responsible for guest safety, proving crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Must adhere to staffing schedules to provide adequate and safe staffing coverage to accomplish program objectives.
- Full-time | 40 hours per week | Hourly Rate: $36.73

- Requirements
- High School diploma / GED + 4 years working at a nonprofit or
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline.
- 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in Excel, MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage crises.
- Time and project management skills.
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Bilingual skills are a plus!
- MUST have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
