- We are seeking a dedicated and detail-orientated Warehouse Associate to join our Receiving team. You will be responsible for receiving, unloading, verifying, keeping records of incoming shipments and verifying accuracy.
- This position plays a crucial role in managing inventory and ensuring that products are properly stored and shipped. Responsible for orchestrating the movements and storage of goods in a warehouse. Monitors and controls all warehouse/receiving stock movements to ensure that the system’s perpetual inventory correctly reflects the actual physical inventory.
Responsibilities
- Perform shipping and receiving duties, including inspecting incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Ensure all incoming products are received from vendors and production correctly.
- Maintain an organized inventory system using a Warehouse Management System to track stock levels and locations.
- Assist in unloading trucks, ensuring that all materials are handled according to safety protocols.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials safely within the warehouse.
- Comply with OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and all company policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Perform regular cycle counts and ensure all inventory control procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Maintain the activities of the warehouse and partner with all staff to effectively support inbound and outbound operations.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and safety.
- Report any issues or concerns to managers immediately, including all collisions or malfunctions.
- Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in materials handling or warehouse operations.
- Previous experience working with seafood or perishables in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year forklift experience.
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to work in cold/freezing conditions.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety practices in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs. onto waist-high shelves.
- Frequent bending at waist/knees.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers.
- Exposure to a multi-temp, food production environment.
- Required to work in refrigerated and frozen environments, near noisy machinery, and confined spaces as part of daily production activities.
Work Hours and Availability
- This is a full-time position based out of the El Segundo location. Approximate hours: 4:00am – 12:00pm; some flexibility is required. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits
- The pay scale for this position is $20.00 – $24.00 per hour. Employee benefits are available for all qualifying full-time employees, including paid time off, medical, vision, and dental insurance. In addition, employees receive fresh seafood products and company merchandise at cost plus 10%.
