Our team is dedicated to providing engaging and memorable retail environments that enhance the guest experience, while reflecting the unique mission and values of each location we serve.
- The Role
- Event Network, North America’s leader in experiential retail, is seeking a Vice President of Experiential Design & Development—a strategic design leader who thrives on turning bold concepts into built reality. This role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-driven. It demands a leader who thrives in the design studio and in the trenches of project delivery, turning abstract ideas into tangible experiences that delight guests and advance our partners’ goals.
- The Vice President of Experiential Design & Development (VP) will partner closely with the SVP of Experience Design & Development (SVP) to bring visionary strategies to life through detailed design development, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is ideal for a design professional who excels in rolling up their sleeves, driving design production, and ensuring operational excellence in every detail.
- What You’ll Do
- Design Execution & Delivery
- Lead design development from concept refinement through hand-off to construction team, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Translate strategic design direction into practical, executable design solutions that balance creativity with operational realities.
- Oversee production of design deliverables, including drawings, renderings, 3D models, and specifications.
- Ensure all design outputs meet brand standards, partner requirements, and technical compliance.
- Translate the SVP’s strategic design direction into practical, buildable solutions without compromising creativity.
- Own the design development process—driving drawings, specifications, and models to completion.
- Balance aspirational design concepts with operational, budgetary, and technical realities.
- Project Leadership & Execution
- Manage day-to-day design workflow across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Partner with Construction, Product, and Operations teams to ensure an aligned process and a seamless handoff and execution in the field.
- Troubleshoot design and implementation issues quickly, finding solutions that maintain design integrity while ensuring feasibility.
- Maintain organized project documentation, approvals, and progress tracking.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, mentor, and inspire designers and project coordinators in a collaborative studio environment.
- Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement within the design team.
- Provide technical guidance and design oversight to ensure all team members produce exceptional, buildable work.
- Drive best practices for documentation, standards, and process discipline across the design function.
- Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration
- Communicate design intent clearly and effectively with internal teams, external consultants, and vendor partners.
- Support the SVP in client/partner presentations by ensuring design packages are thorough, polished, and ready for executive review.
- Serve as the tactical point person for cross-functional partners (Construction, Product, Operations, Merchandising, Business Development).
- What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in retail, hospitality, or experiential design, with a focus on execution and delivery.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design development and technical execution of high-quality built environments.
- Demonstrated success translating strategic design direction into detailed, buildable solutions.
- Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- High proficiency in design and documentation software (examples: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D visualization).
- Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, ADA requirements, and construction processes.
- Proven ability to mentor teams, set standards, and drive results with precision.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
