Type of Requisition: Regular Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Secret Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Secret Public Trust/Other Required: None Job Family: Field Service and Support Job Qualifications: Skills: Planning Ability, Prioritization, Program Management Certifications: None Experience: 15 + years of related experience US Citizenship Required: Yes Job Description: GDIT is seeking a Field Engineer Senior Advisor to serve as a Vertical Launching System (VLS) Naval Surface Warfare Center – Port Hueneme Division Fleet Readiness Program Manager Representative (PMR) to advocate fleet readiness for Surface Launching Systems on behalf of NSWC PHD and PEO IWS3L to help support in Port Hueneme, California This is a remote position, and no relocation assistance is provided Must be a US Citizen Job Description: These duties are applicable, but not limited to, the following tasking: Provide leadership in the oversight of Casualty Reports and priority material requirements for ships in a specified AOR that prevents full mission readiness. Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to expedite material resource requirements. This includes open CASREP tracking supporting pre-deployers and afloat units that are in availabilities with issues impacting VLS recertification. Ship Alterations (SHIPALTS) and Ordnance Alterations (ORDALTS) planning and execution milestones; coordinating with Type Commander as required for alteration execution. Liaison between afloat units and warfare centers in coordination of data and deliverables necessary to execute all failure investigation reporting requirements. Act as a representative of PEO IWS 3L, understand NSWC PHD ISEA responsibilities and technical authority integral to the Surface Launching Systems and Combat Systems interfaces. Assist and provide program management for in-service Surface Launching System Lifecycle, Readiness and Modernization issues. Develop and implement overall PEO IWS3L and Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division program requirements; analyze and evaluate effectiveness of program requirements throughout the lifecycle. Prepare analytical evaluations to enforce readiness requirement traceability; providing upgrades/improvements recommendations and establishing a feedback loop on integrated Vertical Launching System performance to Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division. Maintain active relationships with waterfront activities such as RMCs, Fleet Commanders, TYCOMs, Ship’s Force and WFCs in support of Vertical Launching System readiness. Identify areas for process improvements, reduction of total ownership costs, and the increase of fleet readiness; conduct system/equipment reviews as necessary. Participate in working groups on a continuing basis and provide status from the waterfront to PEO IWS and WFCs to ensure fleet issues are addressed. Qualifications: US Citizen Active Secret clearance or higher MS Degree plus 10+ years OR equivalent experience plus 10+ years (16 years minimum) Knowledge/abilities to plan, manage and accomplish a variety of complex integrated combat/weapon system project assignments to satisfy technical objectives for surface combatant total ship combat/weapon system readiness, engineering and supportability. Application of in-depth knowledge of program management, risk management, and cost, schedule and performance assessment. In depth knowledge in integration, budgeting and resource management. Leadership skills to support the partnering requirements. Ability to interface and provide technical and programmatic briefs to Flag, SES and O6 level personnel. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
