What You’ll Do
- The VP of Enterprise Technology Services is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the organization’s core banking systems and enterprise technology platforms. The VP will oversee technology operations, infrastructure, and engineering practices that directly support business performance, reliability, and growth. This position will build and develop high-performing teams, drive continuous improvement in systems and processes, and partner closely with business leaders to deliver solutions that improve the member and associate experience.
- * Provide strategic and operational leadership for enterprise technology services, including infrastructure, core banking systems, integrations, and enterprise applications.
- * Build and mentor high-performing teams; foster associate growth through coaching and development, and create succession plans for key technology roles.
- * Implement and maintain an IT governance framework that ensures technology and business alignment across the Credit Union.
- * Act as a change agent for digital transformation, championing new technologies and practices to modernize operations and enhance the member experience.
- * Provide regular reports to executive leadership on department updates, key performance indicators (KPIs), risks, and progress toward strategic objectives.
- * Create and implement a cloud strategy to ensure high availability, agility, scalability and focus of IT resources on creating business value.
- * Advance automation, cloud adoption, and API enablement to support member experience and business agility.
- * Implement and maintain a formal Incident Response Process for the triage, root cause analysis, communication, and resolution of system issues and outages.
- * Ensure the development, quality assurance, and production environments run smoothly and have the necessary capacity to meet future demand.
- * Oversee development teams focused on the member centric design, integration and implementation of websites, digital banking and software applications.
- * Ensure high reliability, high availability, scalability and cost efficiency of infrastructure services and applications.
- * Responsible for optimizing and standardizing development practices and processes to align with the overall business strategy and direction.
- * Plan and execute development projects, ensure that teams have appropriate products and technical specifications, direction and resources to deliver projects on achievable timelines.
- * Direct, run and deliver application development projects through the application of comprehensive SLDC processes.
- * Research, recommend and manage planning, negotiation, vendor and partner relationships, contracts, and SLAs to ensure cost-effective and reliable technology services.
- * Establish and manage key operational metrics (uptime, incident frequency, mean time to recovery, defect rates) to continuously improve system performance and resilience.
- * Analyze various statistics and the use of technology in all areas of the operation and make recommendations for the efficient operation and growth of the credit union.
- * Coordinate with leaders across the Credit Union to assure that related policies and IT controls are being effectively developed, implemented and executed.
- * Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit to ensure technology practices meet NCUA, FFIEC, GLBA, and SOC2 requirements.
- * Evaluate work performance of associates through timely and regularly scheduled coaching sessions and reviews; determine promotions, salary adjustments and corrective actions.
- * Interfaces at all levels of the organization, community and industry.
- * Interacts positively with other departments to build working relationships for self and team members.
- * Utilizes tact and good judgment to resolve issues and supports associates with difficult situations.
What You Bring
Experience/ Training/ Education
- * Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- * 10–15 years of progressive leadership in technology operations or software engineering, with proven expertise in core banking systems.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- * Inspirational people leader with experience mentoring teams through transformation and operational change.
- * Strong background in mission-critical system operations, availability management, and regulatory compliance.
- * Experience with modern core banking systems, including system customization, API integrations, and managing upgrades or conversions.
- * Experience leading teams in software development and systems engineering with modern practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps).
- * Experience with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure).
- * Experience with mobile and web app development and highly scalable backend systems.
- * Experience and knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or similar IT Governance Framework.
- * Experience with technology infrastructure and delivery methods, system development and documentation standards, service delivery models, and project management techniques.
- * Demonstrates ability to work independently and be self-directed when necessary as well as the ability to work and accomplish goals in a team environment.
- * Excellent communication/influence skills both verbally and in writing and excellent telephone manner, with strong presentation skills to be able to produce reports, conduct presentations and group facilitations.

Monetary Growth
- * Final offers based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The range for the VP Enterprise Technology Services role is $184,000.00 - $250,000.00 annually.
- * 401(k) with a 3% employer contribution AND a dollar-for-dollar matching of up to 5%.
