About

We are looking for a talented UX/UI designer to enhance the visual and interactive elements of our digital media platform's homepage and lead article section. We are looking for a digital designer with experience building online Newspapers, Magazines or Newsletters. You will work closely with our front-end/back-end developer, who is managing functionality using React and Laravel.
 Key tasks include:
1. Homepage Redesign (Light Theme)
• Refine existing layout and visual hierarchy
• Create an updated hero banner with a clean typographic identity
2. Logo + Tagline
• Multiple versions for light/dark backgrounds.
3. Visual System Enhancements
• Updated color palette, hover states, and scroll effects
• Subtle micro-interactions (button lift, hover glow, scroll-to-top animation)
• Refined typographic hierarchy and grid rhythm
4. Section Visuals (Homepage Templates)
• Top Stories: visually dynamic featured layout . Article detail page redesign – Polished layout for single-article view 
• Global Gallery Section: image grid or carousel format with hover text overlays.
• Short-form section (e.g., “Voices”): layout for quotes or snippets.
5. Developer Handoff
• Figma file or clean HTML/CSS prototype.
• Animation assets (SVG, JSON)
• Defined color/typography system documentation
 We would are open to prototyping using tools such as Framer or Lovable 
Timeline
Estimated design phase: 2–3 weeks
• Week 1: Moodboard + wireframe concepts
• Week 2: Homepage + animation draft
• Week 3: Revisions + developer-ready handoff Deliverables A. Concept & Direction * 1. Moodboard – Visual references capturing tone, texture, and motion ideas * 2. Color palette exploration – 2–3 palette variations building off existing warm light theme * 3. Typography pairings * 4. Final homepage layout – Clean, modular Figma or HTML/CSS design showing all sections: * Hero banner with animation and CTA * Top Stories (1 feature + 4–5 smaller articles) * Short-form or “Voices” section (quote/tweet-style design) * Global Gallery / “Quads Around the World” section (photo grid or carousel) * Recent Articles feed * Footer (newsletter, links, and partner schools) * Category feed template – Refined list view for topics (e.g., Sports, Opinion, Culture). * 7. Light theme styling – Consistent with the current site’s base but with visual depth, contrast, and tone refinement. * 8. Mobile-optimized version – Simplified but visually consistent mobile flow * C. Visual System / Brand Elements * 11. Logo & tagline lockup (optional) – Updated logotype and tagline placement for site header. * 12. Iconography set – Small vector icons for filters, navigation, and interactive buttons. * 13. Micro-interaction styles – Hover lift, scroll-to-top frisbee spin, “Load More” animation * 14. Color system documentation – Hex values, accessibility contrast notes, hover variants * 15. Typography system – Font usage guide: headings, subheads, body, quotes * 16. Spacing and grid system – Defined margins, padding, and layout grid references E. Developer Handoff Package * 21. Final Figma file – Organized with labeled layers, styles, and components. * 22. Exported assets – All SVGs, PNGs, JSONs, and icon files prepared for integration. * 23. Style guide / spec sheet – One-page summary with font names, color hex codes, animation links, and spacing rules. * 24. Implementation notes – Documentation for Safaa (developer) detailing transitions, animations, and motion timings. * 25.
