Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, hire, train, and motivate the used-vehicle sales team
  • Maintains vehicle inventory and uses current technology to determine which vehicles to stock.
  • Conducts daily and weekly sales and sales training meetings.
  • Forecast sales, gross profit, and expenses; manage department budget
  • Appraise seen and purchased used vehicles; manage inventory and turn policy
  • Source inventory through trades, auctions, and market analysis
  • Oversee reconditioning, merchandising, and vehicle display – taking time and budget targets into consideration
  • Ensure strong customer follow-up and 100% F&I turnover
  • Assist in closing deals and resolving customer concerns
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Used Cars Sales Manager or similar leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of used-vehicle operations, inventory sourcing, and appraisals
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing sales teams
  • Strong financial acumen with forecasting and budget management experience
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer-resolution skills
  • Experience with dealership technology, CRM tools, and inventory software
