  • SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Manager, the Trucking & Fleet Coordinator is expected to demonstrate the ability to delegate the drivers to successfully deliver and pick up all cargo in the most effective time and cost method.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned).
  •  
  • * Organize and delegate daily routes for all drivers ensuring customers containers are delivered on a timely manner. 
  •  
  • * Ability to foresee and resolve logistical problems due to truck and driver needs, equipment and safety issues, customer requirements, and any other issues that may arise.  
  •  
  • * Monitor equipment supplies and ensure driver safety awareness, Assist customers with any trucking issues. 
  •  
  • * Ability to input data into a trucking database for optimal KPI results and update as needed.  
  •  
  • * Schedules and dispatches drivers to appropriate locations according to customer request, specification, or needs using radios or telephones. 
  •  
  • * Arrange for necessary repairs in order with Fleet Maintenance Manager to restore service and schedules. 
  •  
  • * Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from drivers, customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. 
  •  
  • * Prepares daily work and run schedules, prepares alternate routes in the event of traffic accidents or road repairs. 
  •  
  • * Records and maintains files and records of customer request, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.  
  •  
  • * Determines types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required, according to work orders or specifications.  Observes safety practices and rules of the road.
  •  
  • * Performs administrative, computer, and clerical functions related to the operations of trucking and logistics. 
  •

  • QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  •  
  • * High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
  •  
  • * One (1) year of experience with dispatching work in a Trucking/Logistics company. 
  •  
  • * Understands Department of Transportation (DOT) rules & regulations governing the maintenance of the equipment in which assigned.
  •  

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  •  
  • * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shipping documents, and procedure manuals.
  •  

REASONING ABILITY

  •  
  • * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  •  
  • * Ability to determine effective & efficient route to take when delivering containers.
  •  

CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS

  •  
  • * Must possess a valid Guam Commercial Driver’s License.
  •  
  • * Traffic, police, and court clearance.
  •  
  • * May be required to obtain a valid Medical DOT Certificate.
  •  

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

  •  
  • * Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)

  • * Recognizing and maintaining strict confidentiality of work material and works independently in the absence of supervision.
