Job Description: The Tooling Programs Analyst supports Southwest’s Technical Operations Supply Chain Team by driving key initiatives that ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of tooling processes across the network. This role manages Bills of Materials (BOMs) for tools, oversees the lost tooling process, and develops analytics and visual reporting for leadership and the Tool Review Committee. By translating data into actionable insights and supporting the induction of new tools and process improvements, the Analyst helps maintain operational readiness and safety. With a focus on precision and collaboration, this role plays a vital part in sustaining the tools and systems that keep Southwest’s aircraft and People moving. Responsibilities Assist in the oversight of the Tooling and Equipment Program, serving as an integral part of the cross-functional Tooling Team and as a subject matter expert for the Program Support the Tool Review Committee to ensure all Internal Customers and Senior Leadership are kept informed on Tooling issues, Program updates and improvement projects Establish thorough communication with SCM (Supply Chain Management) and Tech Ops groups required to support Tooling initiatives or impacted by operational issues Coordinate responses to Supply Chain issues, ensuring Customer needs are met responsively & accurately Lead cross-functional Teams for projects delivering improvements in operational performance, cost reductions, risk management, and establishment of new capabilities Leverage multiple systems and information sources to generate analysis, reporting, presentations, and recommendations in support of the Purchasing, Planning, and Production Teams to improve operational efficiency Develop key performance reports and metrics to help manage the tooling program; prepare and present reporting metrics and status updates to the Tooling Review Committee and Senior Leadership Manage the technical review & implementation of Tooling & Equipment additions and changes, ensuring all inducted Tooling items are thoroughly vetted against applicable safety and regulatory requirements as well as Company and Department policies Support the monitoring and enforcement of policy compliance efforts, and lead efforts to drive improvements and ensure effectively risk management May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of business practices involved in supply chain management and aviation/aerospace Skilled in identifying opportunities to improve processes, implement modifications, and communicate them effectively to Leader for further refinement Skilled in performing detailed analysis, interpreting results, synthesizing information and providing recommendations Skilled in attentively listening to others and asking questions for clarification to ensure understanding Skilled in learning from experiences and applying new knowledge appropriately with some coaching Skilled in preparing high-quality presentation decks for Program Manager and Department Leaders to use during Tool Review Committee meetings and other forums with Executive audience members Ability to cultivate a network of resources across the Enterprise Ability to proactively share status and key information to diverse stakeholder groups while ensuring clear understanding Ability to support and provide help to Team Members to ensure the most effective and efficient processes are followed Ability to leverage knowledge, experience and external inputs to accurately analyze complex situations Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in: Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Logistics Project management, operations management or data analytics Licensing/Certification N/A Physical Abilities Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job Other Qualifications Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information Ability to work flexible hours to successfully meet deadlines; extended work hours may be required Possible travel domestically and/or internationally 10-30% Pay & Benefits Competitive market salary from $74,950 per year to $83,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
