  • Job Purpose
  • The Terrain Park Builder/Supervisor is directly responsible for producing the world-class terrain park experience at Marquette Mountain. This includes the design, construction, and daily maintenance of parks, pipes, rails and fun boxes, managing daytime operations, and supervising the summer maintenance program.
  • This is a seasonal position Oct 15, 2025 - April 15, 2026.
  • Status: Full Time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creatively designs plans for the terrain park layout, taking into account the natural features of the mountain, and turns those plans into reality
  • Provide forecasting for potential builds. Draw a plan for what the park layout(s) will be and how much snow-making efforts will be needed
  • Building take-offs, landings, etc.
  • Maintain a park log that shows daily maintenance for every feature, rail, jump, halfpipe, etc.
  • Daily upkeep of all fences, signage, feature markers, features, jumps, rails, and everything that falls within the terrain park boundaries
  • Constant care and maintenance of rail features and jumps, knowledge of when a feature should be open or closed, ensuring all signage, fencing, and park entrances are in order, inspecting features to ensure that they are safe for the public
  • Monitor and fix any and all equipment
  • Conduct rider counts and recording several times a day
  • Maintain a clean site and equipment log
  • Hire, manage, and appropriately schedule according to business needs
  • Ensure payroll is accurate and be fiscally responsible for the department
  • Accurately manage all department expenditures
  • Enforce, uphold and maintain safety standards in accordance with company protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Train Terrain Park staff to NSAA standards and ANSI code requirements and any insurance policy requirements or guidelines
  • Member of the grooming crew and participates in grooming shifts
  • Assist with snowmaking
  • Work with GM, Mountain Operations Manager, and Events coordinator organizing and executing events and competitions taking place
  • Coordinating your team with other departments, including ski patrol, grooming, snowmaking, lifts, etc.
  • Ensure that mountain operations/ski patrol is aware of terrain park
  • opening/closing
  • Guest relations
  • Planning and performing off season maintenance of Terrain Park features.
  • Work with GM and Mountain Ops Manager to plan next season parks and features
  • Reports to Mountain Operations Manager
  • All other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 18 years old or older
  • Preferred two years experience in the mountain bike or ski area industry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organizational skills with ability to plan ahead
  • Ability to work manual labor in all weather conditions
  • Proficiency in alpine and lift operations
  • Familiarity with OSHA/MIOSHA safety standards and basic labor practices
  • Skilled in the proper and safe use of all equipment, tools, products, and materials relating to the department
  • Understanding of tools, machines and the ability to diagnose and repair equipment preferred
  • Proficient keyboarding skills and knowledge of internet and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace tools
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience and/or Training: Minimum of two years experience
  • Licenses/Certificates: Valid driver’s license required
  • Technology/Equipment: Park Groomer, Snowmobile, ATV/UTV
