We’re placing an order with a Chinese manufacturer for a custom wood-and-glass dome structure and need an experienced technical professional to double-check everything before we buy. What you’ll do Review architectural/technical drawings and specs for the dome. Verify dimensions, tolerances, materials (wood species, glazing type/thickness, hardware/fasteners, finishes, sealants). Check bill of materials and quantities; flag gaps or overages. Create a clear Order Checklist for the manufacturer (parts list, packaging, labeling, QC tests, documentation). Coordinate with the supplier to resolve discrepancies before PO is issued. Advise on inspection steps prior to shipment. Requirements Background in architecture, structural/civil engineering, or façade/glazing systems. Proven experience reviewing shop drawings and vendor quotes for custom structures. Familiarity with international manufacturing (China) and Incoterms. Excellent attention to detail; clear written communication. (Nice to have) Mandarin communication or experience with Chinese factories. Engagement Short consulting contract (remote). Start: immediate.
