  • The John Chambers College of Business & Economics, West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking qualified applicants for a Teaching Professor position primarily focused on teaching introductory courses in Economics. The position is a full-time (1.00 FTE), non-tenure-track, 9-month appointment beginning in August 2026.
  • Primary Responsibilities

Teaching (80%25)

  • Teach eight courses annually, primarily in Economics, though other undergraduate or graduate courses may be assigned based upon departmental needs.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, innovative, and effective teaching strategies to enhance student learning and success.
  • Serve as a key faculty resource for first-year students, fostering their academic and professional development.

Service (20%25)

  • Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at improving student retention and supporting probationary students.
  • Collaborate with academic advising and retention teams to design and implement programming that enhances the success and persistence of undergraduate students.
  • Contribute to department, college, and university service activities that align with the college’s mission to support student success.
  • A PhD degree in Economics.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level.
  • A strong commitment to student success, academic engagement, and innovative teaching practices.
