If hired, Interns may be asked to support a variety of projects within one of the following Teams: Supply Chain Management Data Analytics Intern: As a Supply Chain Management Data Analytics Intern, you’ll transform data into insights that drive smarter decisions and improve efficiency across our supply chain. You’ll build dashboards, analyze trends, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover opportunities for optimization. Using tools like VLOOKUP, Tableau, and AI-driven solutions, you’ll play a key role in shaping strategies that keep our operations running smoothly. Supply Chain Management Operations Intern: As a Supply Chain Management Operations Intern, you’ll help keep our procurement systems running smoothly and reliably. You’ll work hands-on with tools like Coupa, Ironclad, and SAP ERP to support the Source-to-Pay process, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance across the enterprise. This role is all about problem-solving and collaboration—providing end-user support, managing configurations, and delivering timely solutions that align with business needs. Additional Details Join Southwest as a Summer 2026 Intern, with a 12-week internship lasting from May 19 – August 7, 2026. Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX headquarters facility during business hours (2702 Love Field Drive). Dedicate 40 hours each week (maximum of 8 hours per day) to your internship responsibilities and tasks. Receive free, unlimited space available travel privileges for yourself (taxes and fees may apply on international travel). Interns will be provided any required equipment, such as a laptop, for the internship. U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available. Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of Supply Chain Management Ops Intern may include, but are not limited to: Supports SCM COE in their implementation, management, and ongoing business process optimization in support of the Source to Pay technology platform and other procurement platforms. Assists with project management tasks (i.e., status tracking and reporting, issue documentation, follow-ups) Developing Safety Promotion, communication and training for the Pilot group pertaining to Safety related topics. Coordinating the analysis of data from internal and external databases (e.g., NASA, MITRE, ASIAS, ATSAP) for common reporting of incidents. Creates data visualizations in Tableau with assistance from senior team members. Support Supply Chain Management Department and Internal SWA Customers by providing reporting, analysis, and dashboard Work collaboratively with Team Members and across Supply Chain Management. Provide Level 1 with basic data and reporting issues. Monitors our intake request app with tracking new request Assist in testing new development of dashboards and workflows. May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills Self-starter with strong critical thinking and innovative mindset Aptitude to read contract language; familiarity with different contract types Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge in collecting, organizing, transforming, cleaning, visualizing, and assimilating data Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical solutions Ability to prioritize work with guidance and deliver high-quality results within timelines Ability to manage time effectively, organize work, and seek guidance when needed Skilled in asking clarifying questions to ensure full understanding of tasks and initiatives Ability to communicate with the team and keep them informed on task completion Ability to provide input to develop, document, and implement operational processes and procedures Ability to deliver internal process status updates and improvement ideas Ability to participate in lessons-learned discussions and identify efficiency actions Ability to support team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of tasks Strong Customer Service focus Time Commitment and Pay Required: Full-time 40hrs a week on site in Dallas, Texas Must maintain a consistent weekly schedule during normal business hours at a max of 8hrs per day Program Dates: May 19 – August 7, 2026 $20-$22 per hour, corresponding with progress toward degree Stipends may be offered based on eligibility and program criteria Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required Progress toward a degree, major, or minor in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology Management, Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Accounting, Finance or similar degree required Progress towards a 4-year undergraduate degree preferred To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (as defined by your university) at the time of application and during the internship At least 3 semesters remaining at the time the internship ends is preferred Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application Basic Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to complete the full hiring process Experience Preferred: Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel pivot tables, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Preferred: Experience with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP Preferred: Experience with building tables and queries in Access Preferred: Experience with Tableau Preferred: Experience with cost analysis, root cause analysis, and forecasting Preferred: Familiarity with strategy surrounding AI Preferred: Skilled in writing computer programs for various purposes Preferred: Familiarity with strategy surrounding AI Preferred: Familiarity with resolving purchase order discrepancies Preferred: Experience with documenting processes, process flows, and general training content (e.g., Quick Reference Guides).
