Job Description: The Supervisor Aircraft Appearance Field Services plays a key role in ensuring Southwest Airlines’ aircraft meet the highest standards of Safety, security, and presentation. This Leader oversees Aircraft Security and Appearance Service Providers, ensuring compliance with Company policies and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) procedures. Through close collaboration with Teams across Security, Supply Chain Management, Inflight, Ground Operations, and other operational groups, this Supervisor drives service improvements, process audits, and policy updates that enhance both operational efficiency and the Customer Experience. By evaluating vendor performance through KPIs, onsite visits, and service level agreements, this role helps maintain the quality and consistency that reflect Southwest’s commitment to excellence on every flight. Model the Southwest Way Guide and lead team members using SWA talent management practices to coach, develop, and engage employees Adhere to Company values and competencies to foster a culture of inclusion, recognition, and support of a safe work environment Invest in leadership and self-growth through participating in continuous learning and development Responsibilities Conduct audits to ensure Aircraft Cleaning Vendor is complying with proper cleaning and security search procedures/policies and documentations Assists Regional teams in training, performing, ordering supplies and implementing Homeland Security guidance on Security Program task , Aircraft Appearance Program tasks, and processes Responsible for maintaining regional training of all employees in operational functions and regulatory requirements Ensures workplace safety and that all regulatory requirements are met Ensures Regional SSID and security search requirements are met Provide vendors with feedback on their performance, to include addressing service failures, request corrective actions, while maintaining healthy vendor relationships Assists in developing reports to track and measure vendor performance Audit vendor invoices and address discrepancies Responsible for monitoring and maintaining regional metrics/KPI’s and developing strategies for improvement Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate in a flexible and effective manner, both orally and written and have the ability to speak in a group situation with varying levels of audience Intermediate problem solving skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements Exhibits the ability to be an attentive, active listener, capable of identifying unstated needs, verifying messages, and clarifying expectations to help others reach agreement Ability to work with leadership in developing and delivering effective PowerPoint presentations Ability to display poise and confidence in formal communication, written, verbal, and presentation, to various levels of the organization including Customers, subject matter experts, and Vendor Sr. Leaders/Mid-level Leaders Ability to read and comprehend maintenance program, operational and component manuals (AMM, MPM, CMM, ATA, AOSP, etc.….) Ability to be an independent thinker that has the courage to challenge the status quo, provoke thought, initiate debate, and be decisive, even in ambiguous environments Ability to assist in managing programs and execute projects in a timely manner Ability to work well with cross departmental relationships Working knowledge in maintaining regional operational budgets Able to work as part of a Team while refraining from reaching conclusions, acting without group consensus, or asserting own values until all perspectives are heard Ability to work independently to achieve results and in a Team environment Excellent problem solving skills, with an ability to adapt to changing requirements Ability to learn and utilize all Southwest Airline and Tech Ops Department software program Ability to ensure quality standards are complied with according to Aircraft Appearance procedures and policies and accurately document audit results Ability to deal effectively with multiple tasks and demonstrate effective time management skills General knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint Ability to interface effectively with different departments and Vendor Leaders Ability to comprehend and keep abreast of information pertinent to the job such as Security and Company procedures, documents, rules and regulations Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience Fully functioning broad knowledge in: Leading Aircraft Appearance, Aviation Operations, Warehouse Operations or Manufacturing Operations Working with regulating authorities such as TSA, OSHA, EPA, FDA or FAA Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s) Licensing/Certification Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements Physical Abilities Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds Ability to work in aircraft aisles and galleys, standing, reaching (extending in front of body and above head), walking, kneeling, stooping, and sitting for periods of long duration Ability to operate aircraft doors (pushing and pulling), and entry stands Traveling work environment subject to varying climate conditions, air turbulence, changing locations, variable hours and working conditions, dry air, noise levels from engines and other ground equipment, dim lighting, confined spaces, and continuous and frequent contact with others Other Qualifications Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines Must be able to work varying shifts including nights and weekends, and extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines Frequent travel to multiple locations on a daily/weekly basis required Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $91,250 per year to $101,400 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
