Estimated Appointment End Date (Continuous if Blank) Full/Part-Time Full time Job Type Regular Compensation Job Description Basic Purpose Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to the processing, maintenance, and oversight of student registrations and records for cosmetology and barbering schools licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering (OSBCB). This includes verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with agency rules and state statutes, assisting with examination eligibility, and providing administrative support to agency programs and staff. Duties may involve direct communication with schools, students, and the public to ensure accurate recordkeeping and efficient processing of student registrations. Typical Functions Reviews and processes student registration applications and documentation submitted by licensed schools. Verifies information for accuracy and completeness in accordance with agency policies, administrative rules, and state laws. Maintains detailed student registration records and updates information in agency databases. Communicates with school administrators and instructors regarding registration requirements, examination eligibility, and student record corrections. Assists with preparing and issuing student permits and related documentation. Responds to inquiries from schools, students, and the public regarding registration procedures, timelines, and requirements. Prepares reports, correspondence, and other documentation as requested. Trains or assists in training school staff on proper registration procedures and the use of agency forms. Provides administrative support to the Licensing and Exam Divisions as needed. Coordinates with other agency personnel to ensure compliance and consistency in processing student data. May assist with examination scheduling, record audits, or related functions. Performs other duties as assigned. Enters and retrieves information using computer system or other data processing equipment and receives and reviews coded and uncoded source documents; reviews data and makes routine corrections. Education and Experience Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of four years of technical clerical office work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and business English; of business mathematics; of modern office methods and procedures; of the maintenance of complex records; and of the major policies and procedures governing assigned programs. Ability is required to maintain effective working relationships with others; to handle confidential work; to interpret and handle routine matters in accordance with agency policy; and to follow oral and written instructions.
