See yourself in our team Bankwest's Technology Division develops and executes all technical change within the organisation ensuring the leverage of technology to deliver the Bankwest strategy. The Division works on a wide variety of technologies and projects with the support of a dedicated team in an Agile methodology. Our team is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of the bank – from product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business. You’ll be part of the Safe and Resilient Lending Crew - Our focus is on supporting the bank’s lending processes with highly automated, and technology first solutions. We are looking for AI powered engineers who want to bring creativity and innovation in building the future banking experience. With a focus on building seamless broker and colleague experience, you’ll be embedded into a cross functional squad of full cycle engineers, that embrace DevSecOps with a strong sense of ownership, autonomy, and end-to-end responsibility As a Staff Engineer, responsible for leading, promoting continuous improvement, developing technical roadmaps, and improving the quality of technical solutions by implementing industry best practises. You'll also work closely with other technical leaders and product owners to document new changes and drive various initiatives. It will be key that you are able communicate well with the rest of the squad members, provide technical guidance and mentoring to the engineers in the team, while being exposed to some interesting challenges as we transition to the cloud. We’re interested in hearing from people who: · Possesses full-cycle engineering experience: ideation, technical design, build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and ongoing maintenance. · Leads technical design, architecture, and implementation for new and existing features, providing thought leadership and influencing technology direction across the team. · Provides technical governance and guidance throughout the complete solution delivery lifecycle. · Have the ability to work independently and drive a culture where quality, excellence and openness are championed. · Are constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex technical problems. · Can utilise strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes through technical implementation. · Are enthusiastic about leading and championing strategic practice development. · Collaborates with peers and helps grow capabilities within the squad and across the crew. Tech Skills: We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team: · Solid experience in backend development using .NET Core or similar enterprise programming language. · Expertise with Microservices, Restful API design pattern · Experience in frontend development using Angular, React, or similar modern framework. · Strong knowledge of cloud engineering in AWS or equivalent cloud technology. · Deep understanding of solution design and architecture principles · Working experience in DevSecOps; CI/CD pipelines – Github Enterprise, GitHub Actions and with appropriate embedded guardrails and governance. · Leading quality practices within the squad with a track record of strong risk management to ensure safe and secure change management.
