About
See yourself in our team: You’ll join the Secure Desktop and Identity Domain within our End User Experience Division — a team focused on enabling safe, seamless access for every employee. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll set the technical direction for our platform ecosystem and guide a squad that delivers reliable, secure, ai-powered and cost-effective end-user computing solutions. Do work that matters You will design and implement software solutions that ensures the end user computing environment is robust, cost effective to support, and meets business requirements. You’ll balance hands-on engineering with high-level design and mentoring, driving automation, AI-enabled tooling and solutions, and DevSecOps practices across our engineering community. To be successful in this role, some of the broad roles and responsibilities may include: Strategic & Technical Leadership • Shape the roadmap and strategy for your squad’s products and services. • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers across the team. • Champion engineering principles, patterns, and standards across the domain. Delivery & Implementation • Design and implement platform services and support tools that deliver measurable business value. • Lead the transition from current to target architectures. • Provide expert-level support aligned with SLAs and incident management processes. Innovation & Enablement • Identify emerging technologies that align with the Group’s strategic direction. • Promote knowledge sharing, documentation, and reusability across teams. • Enhance our Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and related tooling to drive consistency and resilience. We’re interested in hearing from people who possess the following: • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD and automation tools (e.g. GitHub, GitHub Actions, TeamCity). • Strong scripting or programming experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python). • Experience with Windows environments and macOS, including management solutions like Nexthink and Jamf • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Ansible. • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, EC2, EKS. • Familiarity with containerisation, virtualisation, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS). • Observability and monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus. • Strong understanding of Microservices, GraphQL (Apollo), RESTful APIs, and domain-driven design. • Knowledge of secure development practices — OWASP Top 10, ISO 27001. • Backend: .NET, Java, or TypeScript — and a willingness to learn new technologies.
