Position Summary MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE Company: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS AMERICA, INC. Position Title: Staff Engineer I, Software Process Engineering Location: Mountain View, CA Job ID: SAM9441215 Position Responsibilities: Ensure information flows efficiently between team and the rest of the organization as necessary. Monitor all critical services, sharing on-call duties, troubleshooting, and addressing problems as they arise, including changes in code, topology, resources, or configuration. Ensure timely resolution of critical production-affecting issues, recommending and prioritizing prevention actions, and communicating these efficiently to stakeholders. Participate in domains and engineering alignment meetings, including Agile/Scrum ceremonies. Ensure the team adopted, owned, and followed well-documented engineering practices. Administration of services, whether built in-house or from external vendors. Continuous improvement of internal services for ease of packaging, configuration, and deployment. Deploy applications on Kubernetes, ensure the security of those applications, and troubleshoot those applications. Manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes deployment through upgrades and decommission. Role and Responsibilities Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Staff Engineer I, Software Process Engineering or a related occupation in managing and Supporting large-scale Production data pipeline solutions. The five (5) years of experience must have included: 1) Experience in Linux, SQL, Python, shell scripting, Kafka, Flink, and Airflow; 2) Experience in Infra as code-based strategies, including Terraform and Helm; 3) Managing the lifecycle of Kubernetes deployment through upgrades and decommission; 4) Planning and supporting hardware and software installation and upgrades, configuration management, monitoring, and performance tuning; 5) Experience in Distributed Data pipeline implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance; and 6) Experience in Distributed timeseries database implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance. Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related field and two (2) years of experience as a Staff Engineer I, Software Process Engineering or a related occupation in managing and Supporting large-scale Production data pipeline solutions. Skills and Qualifications Partial telecommuting permitted; employees will be required to report to office multiple days per week. Hours: Full Time, 40 hours/week.
