We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our leadership team and drive financial excellence. Job Summary As the Staff Accountant, you will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide strategic insights to support business growth. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented financial leader who thrives in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and best practices. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls. Collaborate with executive leadership on financial strategy and decision-making. Manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Oversee accounting department which includes a payroll coordinator, CPA, bookkeepers, and tax preparer Conduct virtual zoom semi-annual meetings with semi-annual bookkeeping clients, quarterly meetings with quarterly bookkeeping clients, and monthly meetings with monthly clients Must be able to be a problem solver and communicate with clients to solve their issues, inquiries, concerns, complaints, etc Must be able to interact with clients pleasantly and professionally Must have supervisory accounting experience Must be experienced with leading and supervising an accounting team Must have advanced experience in accounting, payroll, payroll taxes, bookkeeping, journal entries,monthly reconciliations, capital analysis, stock basis, debt basis, budgets, forecasting, depreciation schedules Must be able to provide financial and business consulting services to clients Must have experience with strategic tax planning, budget development, forecasting revenues and analyzing ledgers. Must be knowledgeable about every client's financial status including but not limited to payroll taxes, bookkeeping, budgets/forecasts, accounting strategy Advise management on tax ramifications of business decisions Act as a consultant in areas such as compensation, benefits, and asset protection. Build and maintain relationships with clients, addressing their accounting and financial needs and providing proactive advice and support via Accounting suite chat portal Knowing changes in accounting standards,US tax laws, and industry trends to maintain professional competence and provide up-to-date advice is a PLUS Must be able to speak clear, fluent English as you will be conducting in person zoom meetings with Monthly, Quarterly, and Semi-Annual clients Must be able to work 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 5 hrs per day, 11am EST-4pm EST-NO EXCEPTIONS Must be available for all client scheduled meeting times- NO EXCEPTIONS Must be available for all scheduled firm accounting meetings-NO EXCEPTIONS Must have 4 year bachelor’s accounting degree Must be a CPA Must be reliable and dependable Must sign a 5-year non-compete Must Sign NDA Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Required Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of managerial/financial accounting experience Deep understanding of financial modeling and business analysis Strong software skills (e.g., QuickBooks, Drake, Slack, Google Spreadsheet, Excel, other Accounting Software) Exceptional communication and client service abilities Experience in legal, medical, assisted living or childcare industries is a plus
