  • Position Summary
  • The Inventory Planning Analyst collaborates across functions to maintain inventory accuracy, drive process accountability throughout our inventory handling operations, and lead efforts to continuously improve our inventory management processes. In addition, this individual coordinates with the Sales and Supply Chain teams to review demand forecasts and replenishment strategies to ensure alignment with critical inventory management KPIs and objectives.
  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties and responsibilities required.
  • · Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure inventory health, forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, value, and overall performance.
  • · Establish and govern inventory control parameters that optimize inventory and ordering patterns, including ABC classification, lot sizing, and minimum order quantities.
  • · Apply statistical methodologies to assign appropriate target stocking levels that balance availability, working capital, and lead time variability.
  • · Monitor inventory levels to ensure alignment with forecasted demand, stocking strategies, and service level objectives.
  • · Proactively manage and drive mitigation plans for excess, obsolete, and surplus inventory, including financial reserve recommendations and risk assessments (e.g., SMOG process, usage decisions, SOP development, OTIF impact, and cost implications).
  • · Generate insightful reports for Materials Management to identify opportunities for improving inventory levels, purchasing strategies, lead time reduction, and on-time delivery.
  • · Execute inventory accuracy programs, including weekly cycle counts and support for physical inventory requirements, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • · Analyze, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.
  • · Translate changes in inventory position into financial impact, providing analysis on the effect of inventory levels on the balance sheet.
  • Qualifications
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, industrial distribution, or related field
  • · Proficient in Microsoft Excel in developing and operating complex databases
  • · Ability to apply statistical methods to supply chain and inventory-related concepts
  • · Effective people skills (communication, influence, and championing change)
  • · SAP S/4 HANA ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) experience strongly preferred
  • · APICS certification desired
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • · Comfortable working with numbers, including data retrieval and analysis
  • · Fluent in statistical analysis applied with inventory management principles
  • · Strong analytical thinking and decision-making toolkit
  • · Understanding of business systems (ERP, EWM) logic and ability to apply this logic to conduct detailed root cause investigations and resolve discrepancies
  • · Ability to transform raw data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • · Ability to resolve problems or situations requiring the exercise of good judgment
  • · Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other team members

  • · Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
  • · Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Work Environment

  • Work Hours/Schedule
  • Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Based on business necessity, overtime may be required.
