Job Description: Job Summary: The Ancillary Product Sr. Consultant plays a critical leadership role in shaping the vision, strategy, and performance of Southwest Airlines’ ancillary product portfolio, including bags, boarding products, seats, and offerings such as unaccompanied minors and pets. This individual acts as a strategic owner and thought leader across the product lifecycle, proactively identifying new opportunities, setting long-term direction, and independently driving complex initiatives that support significant revenue growth and Customer value. The Sr. Consultant operates with minimal oversight, collaborates across all levels of the organization, and influences senior leadership while aligning ancillary strategies with Southwest’s broader business objectives. Responsibilities: Serve as the senior product owner, accountable for the strategic direction, design, performance, and cross-functional execution of a critical subset of ancillary products that generate substantial revenue and enhance the Customer experience. Define and drive long-term product strategies independently, ensuring alignment with company priorities and proactively leading key initiatives from conception through execution and measurement. Own competitive intelligence efforts by conducting in-depth market research and rigorous benchmarking to assess industry trends, anticipate shifts, and identify white space opportunities across the ancillary portfolio. Lead cross-functional planning and decision-making efforts with key stakeholders from Revenue Management, Finance, Operations, Digital, Marketing, and Customer Experience to enable seamless product delivery and performance. Translate complex data into compelling business cases and strategic recommendations for product innovation, monetization, and lifecycle management; influence decision-making at the senior leadership level. Guide the development of robust forecasting, reporting, and analytical frameworks in collaboration with Finance and Data Science teams to ensure revenue targets are met and exceeded. Champion end-to-end go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, pricing, messaging, and launch readiness; ensure commercial success across digital and operational channels. Serve as a trusted advisor and lead point of contact for ancillary product strategy across multiple departments, resolving cross-functional challenges and enabling enterprise alignment. Drive a test-and-learn approach, proactively identifying and evaluating opportunities for product evolution through experimentation, A/B testing, and performance tracking. Represent the Ancillary Products team in strategic forums and senior-level discussions, advocating for product opportunities and alignment with Customer and business needs. Mentor junior team members and contribute to team capability-building by sharing expertise, best practices, and thought leadership. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives independently, with minimal guidance. Understanding of airline economics, product strategy, and revenue management principles. Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities; comfortable synthesizing large datasets into strategic insights. Strong executive communication and influencing skills, with a track record of shaping direction across departments and up to senior leadership. High proficiency in data visualization and performance management tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel, SQL). Deep knowledge of product management methodologies, including customer discovery, feature prioritization, and go-to-market strategy. Proactive, self-motivated, and resourceful, with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience Experience Expert level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in: Product management, revenue optimization, or strategic business roles Conducting market research and competitive analysis Project management and cross-functional collaboration Data visualization and performance tracking Licensing/Certification N/A Physical Abilities Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job Other Qualifications Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $128,350 per year to $142,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
