Position Summary

• A Sprayer participates in the operation of spraying and applying chemicals for insect and disease control. Has a general knowledge and experience applying pesticides.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Assistant Growers to decide which plants are going to be treated.
• Revise plants before spraying (e.g. plant condition and wetness).
• Have full knowledge and understand the chemicals measurements before starting applications.
• Must post all Spraying signs before they spray.
• Must be mindful about the job quality being performed, and be conscious about how to spray plants.
• Label plants after application has been completed.
• Assist in Irrigation and plant rotation as needed.
• Assist in getting rid of weeds with a hoe, and by spraying herbicide.
• Must be able to operate a tractor to be able to move application equipment.
• Work responsibly and safely at all times. Report unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately.
• Perform any other related duties are required or assigned.
• Requirements

Qualifications

• Education- Equivalent to four years high school or GED.
• Years of Experience- 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training.
• Must be able to pass respirator use requirements.
• Need to be willing to take a blood test when needed.

• Physical Requirement
• While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close distance and color vision.

• Compensation: $18.00-$19.00

The salary range provided reflects the lowest to highest amount we reasonably anticipate paying for this position at the time of posting. Compensation is influenced by labor market conditions and various factors, including but not limited to: the prevailing minimum wage in the area, relevant education, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, sales or revenue targets, and business needs. It is not typical for a new hire to be offered the highest end of the salary range. Pay decisions are made based on the unique circumstances of each candidate and position.
