Social Media Manager / Curator for Art-Driven Surf Brand – Mid Fin Co. Mid Fin Co. is a design-driven surf fin brand that treats social media like an editorial moodboard. Minimal, cinematic, nostalgic, curated. We collaborate with artists, filmmakers, and surfers to create products and moments that feel more like an art studio than a traditional surf brand. We are hiring a Social Media Manager and Curator who understands visual storytelling, brand tone, and subtlety. A strong aesthetic eye is more important than high-volume posting. ⸻ What You Will Be Responsible For 1. Three Curated Grid Posts Per Week These should feel like a moodboard. Examples include: • vintage surf photography • cinematic vibe shots • color-based or texture-based imagery • timeless surf culture references All images must be properly sourced and credited. No generic stock photos. ⸻ 2. Daily Instagram Stories Stories can include: • curated surf clips • collaborator highlights • brand-relevant mood or inspiration content • visuals connected to Mid Fin products or creative direction Stories may be scheduled or posted in real time. ⸻ 3. Caption Writing in the Mid Fin Voice We will approve all captions before they go live. The brand tone ranges slightly depending on the post but consistently avoids: • cheesy surf lingo • overly corporate or sales-heavy language • influencer-style hype We lean toward minimal, editorial, cinematic, nostalgic-but-clean. ⸻ 4. Weekly or Monthly Content Calendar You will prepare structured but flexible calendars that allow us to plug in campaigns, collaborations, and product releases without disrupting the visual narrative. ⸻ Workflow and Collaboration 1. Build and maintain a Pinterest-style inspiration board. 2. Propose a weekly or monthly batch of posts and captions. 3. We approve everything before it goes live. 4. You adapt the plan when we send additional campaigns, collaborations, or content. ⸻ Start Small and Grow With Us We will begin with lower hours and lighter responsibilities to make sure we align well on brand voice, curation, taste, and workflow. As we build trust and see your capabilities, we plan to expand the role with more hours, responsibilities, and creative influence. Our goal is to develop a long-term working relationship with the right person. ⸻ Bonus Responsibilities Not Required Initially • Light on-brand graphic design • Responding to other brand accounts • Drafting sample replies for us to evaluate voice accuracy • Multi-platform support including TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube Shorts, Twitter or X, Threads Important note: Do not manage DMs. ⸻ What We Do Not Want • Generic stock imagery • Surf clichés or puns • Corporate-sounding captions • Off-brand color palettes • Low-quality reposts • Influencer-style content that feels inauthentic Vibe is more important than volume. ⸻ What We Are Looking For • Strong visual taste and aesthetic sense • Understanding of surf culture, design culture, or editorial art direction • Ability to curate consistently • Ability to grow the account without sacrificing brand integrity • Flexible, collaborative communication • Respect for the visual and tonal consistency of the brand Bonus skills include color theory, moodboarding, vintage surf familiarity, and light creative design. ⸻ When You Apply, Please Include 1.
