We are looking for a skilled editor to review an Educational Resource Guide with 9,000 words or fewer. The ideal candidate will have experience editing in U.S. English, strong skills in error detection, including punctuation and grammar, and a background in special education in a school setting. Responsibilities: *Edit and proofread the manuscript for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors *Maintain consistency in tone, style, and voice throughout the guide (POV—teacher, parent, administrator) *Collaborate with the author to improve the overall quality of the publication PLEASE NOTE: THE FIRST MILESTONE WILL BE A PAID TEST EDIT ($10). A one-page sample of the manuscript will be used to assess your editing skills and determine if you are suitable for the full project. IF HIRED, THE BUDGET FOR THE COMPLETE PROJECT IS $135. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT WITHIN THIS BUDGET. REQUIREMENTS: *Proven experience as a guide editor; familiarity with Special Education is a plus. *Excellent knowledge of U.S. English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. *Experience formatting guides for readability and structure for the target audience. *Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the author. *Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. *Ability to deliver quickly.
