- Position Description: The Server Assistant’s primary job is to ensure the smooth operation of table service. Providing good customer service while running food, refilling drinks, and clearing tables. Must be available to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
Essential Job Functions
- · Set up work areas and perform assigned side work duties outlined in the training manual and any other additional work as told by the manager on duty
- · Assist in expediting food from the kitchen ensuring that each dish is correct with proper garnishes and sauces.
- · Ensuring that each dish is correctly placed at the right table and seat number.
- · Help in performing table maintenance during the meals (i.e. replenishing waters, clearing plates, clearing trash on tables)
- · Maintains all work areas during the shift making sure they stay stocked and ready for the next team member
- · Follow all sanitation and safety procedures.
- · Anticipate guest needs.
- · Advises manager on duty of any member or guest issue
- · Performs proper clean-up and closing duties as assigned by the closing manager along with what is required in the training manual
- · Attends all pre-shift meeting to learn of daily specials and any announcements for the staff
- · Work closely with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to maintain smooth service flow.
- · Assists with any tasks requested by management.
- · Assists at any other dining area as needed by management.
- Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of restaurant service or related experience preferred.
- Skills: Good communication skills required, ability to multi-task and work with
- others required. Natural customer service skills, hard work ethic and willing to be part of team required. Excellent phone skills and customer interaction required.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None
- Equipment to be used: Computer POS systems, coffee machine, ice tea machine, bread
- warmer, microwave, soup kettles, chafing dishes, any other miscellaneous restaurant
- equipment.
- Typical Physical Demands: Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time. Ability
- to handle high stress levels during service hours. Ability to carry trays and miscellaneous items
- of up to 20 pounds. The position also requires repeated bending, stooping, reaching and a
- normal range of hearing and vision.
