This is a short term contract for a US lead developer. NO AGENCIES. Looking for engineers in the US, CA, MX, or South America (maybe). About Us: We are a rapidly growing, AI-first startup poised to redefine the CRE industry. We are scaling our team and our platform, transitioning from an agency-led model to a world-class in-house engineering organization. The Role: We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Lead to be the cornerstone of our US/Canada-based development team and a key driver of our AI-first engineering culture. We are open to Mexican or South American engineers as well if their English is at C1 level or better. You will be a player-coach, reporting directly to the CTO, responsible for both technical leadership and pioneering the use of AI in our development process. Your primary mission is to own the quality and architecture of our SaaS platform, leveraging AI to accelerate execution while mentoring a growing team of talented engineers. You will be the ultimate authority on our codebase, driving the transition to a modern, scalable architecture and defining what it means to build software the "AI-first" way. Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do): Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and inspire a distributed team of developers. Guide architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices for the entire organization. Expert Code Review & Quality Assurance: Serve as the gatekeeper for all code entering our platform. Conduct meticulous, precise code reviews to enforce standards for quality, security, performance, and scalability. Modern Web Stack Experience: Proficiency with both ASP.NET MVC and a modern JavaScript framework, specifically Angular. Hands-On Development: Remain deeply technical and hands-on. You will be expected to write clean, high-quality code for critical features and architectural components, leading by example. SaaS Architecture: Drive the technical vision for our platform. Architect and implement robust, scalable solutions on Azure, leading our transition from a monolithic architecture to a modern Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO to define the technical roadmap, with project management to ensure timely delivery, and with our offshore team to facilitate a smooth knowledge transfer. Job Requirements (What We're Looking For): Must-Haves: Senior-Level .NET Expertise: 8+ years of professional experience with a deep, demonstrable mastery of C# and the .NET Framework/Core for building complex, enterprise-grade SaaS applications. Azure Architecture Mastery: Proven experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining applications on Microsoft Azure. You must be an expert in its core PaaS and IaaS offerings (App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Service Bus, etc.). Proven Technical Leadership: Experience as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Principal Engineer where you were directly responsible for the technical output and mentorship of other engineers. AI-First Development Mindset: You must be a champion for and have hands-on experience with AI-driven development. This includes demonstrable proficiency with AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and a passion for leading the integration of AI into all aspects of the SDLC, from automated code reviews to AI-enhanced testing. Onshore/Offshore Experience: We have teams all over the world, covering a 24 hour time period. You must be used to that, and have worked with teams from eastern Europe and India. Architectural Vision (SOA/Microservices): Demonstrable experience in architectural design, particularly with breaking down monolithic applications and building towards a Service-Oriented Architecture. Startup DNA: You must thrive in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment where you are comfortable with ambiguity and are driven to build from the ground up. Oh, and yes, you'll probably be working weekends and a few late nights. If that's not you, that's fine. The upside of course is that we reward hustle. Nice-to-Haves: Experience working in a hybrid environment with both onshore and offshore teams. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps. Familiarity with AI-driven development tools and an interest in applying AI to improve engineering processes.
