General Description of Position
- The Senior Technician is the first promotion that can be achieved by a Technician. This position is available at any time for a Technician to apply for. To be qualified for this position Technicians must be able to show key rental, tune, and repair skills. Senior Technicians are expected to be leaders among their peers, and be able to problem solve independently in their department. This position is able to resolve customer complaints independently and find win-win solutions. The Senior Technician is the right hand of the Shift Lead and responsible for backing up the leadership team on any decisions they make.
Job Responsibilities
- Efficiently facilitate tune shop operations and customer workflow by collaborating directly with Team Leads to implement and uphold rental and tune shop processes.
- Be a cornerstone of knowledge in the tuneshop, equipment repairs, and rental shop operations.
- This position must be able to operate all tuneshop equipment and perform quick tunes, full tunes, ceramic edges, phantom waxes, advanced equipment repair, high end race tunes, and program company tuning machines.
- Able to effectively and efficiently perform any style of binding mounts (Including: Tele, paper jig, and coil).
- Perform advanced rental functions: create staff profiles, create/edit rental articles, inventory management, reporting, IT troubleshooting, and reservation management.
- Be able to effectively train Technicians on tune and rental shop skills.
- Assess customer needs and offer the proper advice on tune shop services, repairs, and rental equipment.
- Perform regular audits on tuneshop forms and ensure that all Technicians are filling them out correctly.
- Perform regular rental fleet audits to ensure that all Next Adventure equipment is functioning properly and inventory is accurate.
- Regularly monitor that all Technicians are using equipment properly and following safety protocols.
- Be able to work effectively on the retail floor as needed and meet the standards laid out for all entry level Associates.
- Perform basic Point of Sale functions: Inventory searches, cash register duties, creating customer profiles, and tag printing.
- Perform advanced level boot fitting skills: in depth heat molding, adjust canting, cut/fit insoles, modify shells, and create custom foot beds.
- Requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Next Adventure Technician or equivalent.
- Have up to date binding certifications from all manufacturers: Marker, Tyrolia/Head, Atomic/Salmon/Armada, and Rossi/Dynastar/Look.
- Able to perform any style of ski binding mount.
- Able to operate tuneshop machinery: base grinder, stone grinder, edging machines/tools, base/edge repair tools, waxing tools and robot tuning machines.
- Expert boot fitting knowledge.
- Able to do base welds, ptex work, and epoxy repair.
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Enjoys and thrives working with a team.

- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to talk in depth about skis, snowboards, snowshoes, mountaineering gear and other pertinent rental inventory.
- Ability to assess equipment damage and provide recommendations to repair.

- Standing for long periods of time.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
