• Requirements
• As the Senior Engineering Manager in VMG Health’s Technology Enablement Office, you will drive the modernization of our core business workflows by leading a matrixed team of developers and data engineers and partnering closely with third-party AI-centric development firms. You will architect and deliver scalable automation solutions that maximize efficiency, quality, and productivity, while mentoring and managing cross-functional talent. The ideal candidate brings proven expertise in AI development tools and frameworks, excels at matrixed team leadership, and thrives in a fast-paced business transformation environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build, mentor, and inspire a matrixed team of developers and data engineers, while integrating external AI-centric vendor partners.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to a matrixed team of developers and data engineers, driving best practices in code quality and Agile delivery.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices using C#/.NET Core, ExpressJS, and NestJS for modular, maintainable back-end services.
• Oversee development of responsive web applications with Angular 16+, TypeScript, and JavaScript, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate closely with third-party AI-centric development partners to integrate next-gen AI tooling, co-develop hybrid solutions, and accelerate time to value.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, security protocols, and governance frameworks across all Technology Enablement Office initiatives.
• Drive Agile ceremonies—sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives—to ensure on-time, high-quality releases.
• Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements, present technical roadmaps, and align engineering efforts with VMG Health’s strategic objectives

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field
• Executive education or certificate in AI, machine learning, or digital transformation
• 8+ years in software engineering or technical leadership roles
• 3+ years managing and mentoring cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Certifications in AI/ML (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, TensorFlow Developer Certificate), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I or II) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
• Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder-management skills in matrixed and vendor-partnered environments
• Deep expertise in Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, DevOps pipelines, resource provisioning, monitoring)
• Advanced proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL performance tuning, database architecture, and ETL workflows
• Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful APIs/microservices with C#/.NET Core, ExpressJS, and NestJS
• Strong command of front-end development using Angular 16+, TypeScript, JavaScript, RxJS, and responsive UI principles
• Familiarity with integrating AI/ML capabilities—Azure Cognitive Services, custom models, prompt engineering—into enterprise solutions
• Proven ability to establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps best practices
• Solid foundation in software architecture patterns, security standards, scalability design, and modular system decomposition
