Senior Database Analyst / DBA (High-Volume SQL Optimization) About Kwik Kwik processes millions of ecommerce orders and powers loyalty, cashback, referral, incentive, and giveaway systems for brands and creator networks. We need a DBA who can streamline and optimize our data layer as we scale to tens of millions of orders. ⸻ Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Database Analyst / Database Engineer to help optimize and restructure our database performance. Your Responsibilities Performance Optimization • Analyze slow queries across millions of rows • Rewrite/optimize SQL queries and stored logic • Implement indexing strategies • Improve query performance for reporting & real-time tracking Data Architecture • Evaluate current schema and recommend structural improvements • Build scalable table structures for commissions, loyalty points, and reward events • Help ensure data accuracy, consistency, and normalization Scalability & Maintenance • Optimize ETL-like operations that run on large datasets • Work with backend engineers to design efficient endpoints • Improve concurrency, locking, and overall DB performance ⸻ Requirements • 4+ years of database engineering • Deep expertise in PostgreSQL or MySQL (we can adjust depending on your stack) • Ability to optimize queries on large, high-volume datasets • Familiarity with ecommerce or financial transaction tables is a plus • Experience with: • Indexing strategies • Query planning & explain plans • Partitioning • Materialized views ⸻ Soft Requirements • Full-time dedicated availability preferred • Excellent communication and documentation skills • Ability to collaborate with backend devs and leadership team ⸻ Nice to Have • Experience with: • AWS RDS • Real-time event pipelines • Data warehousing • OLAP vs OLTP optimization ⸻ 📌 Apply With • Examples of query optimizations you’ve done • Before/after performance improvements • Confirmation of availability and working schedule
