- Description
- Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a Senior Data Solutions Engineer to be involved in architecting, building, and leading small and large solutions projects on our Microsoft Azure and Databricks platform. This hands on role blends software architecture, design, and development with project management while working with our highly team-oriented, customer-focused group who deliver innovative data solutions for our Behavioral Health Treatment organization.

- Job Type: Primarily work from home in AZ (available to travel up to 25% as needed)

Skills and Responsibilities
- Effective communicator, verbal and written, who can translate business requirements into technical user stories and data solutions deliverables, managing backlogs and collaborating within Agile teams. Collaborate with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and executive teams to ensure delivery aligns with goals and compliance (e.g.,?HIPAA).
- Design and deliver modern?data pipelines, automation workflows, and system integrations?using Azure services including but not limited to Azure SQL, Azure Databricks, Data Lake, Data Factory, API services, Logic Apps, Functions, Power BI, Fabric, and other tools.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, Scala and use other data and software development tools.
- Support a major Datawarehouse transformation?and integration of data pipelines with an?EMR Transition.
- Integrate?Azure AI Foundry and?machine learning models?into real-world workflows to improve efficiency, insights, and clinical decision-making.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers while ensuring high standards in cloud security, DevOps, and documentation.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality to ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR, Part 2

- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Requirements
- 10+ years building data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform using services including Azure SQL, Azure Databricks, Data Lake, Data Factory, API services, Logic Apps, Functions, Power BI, and Fabric.
- 3+ years Azure Databricks development experience
- 5+ years leading technical projects – small, medium – management, and involvement in larger projects. Experience with agile methodology, gathering requirements, design, building & testing, and go-live change management.
- Computer Science or technical bachelor’s degree (4 years). Engineering, Data science, or similar.
- Preferred Certifications
- AZ-305: Azure Architecture
- DP-203: Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate
Tools and Equipment Requirements
- Frequent use of a telephone, computer, printer, fax machine and copier
- Frequent use of the internet and various web browser software, and
- Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Frequent use of electronic health record
- Data and software development tools. Microsoft Azure PaaS services. Ability to write
- SQL and python scripts and use other data and software development tools.
Physical Working Conditions and Office Setting Description
- Prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching associated with an office environment
- Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard
- Frequent and prolonged typing and operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones
- Ability to travel to assigned CMS sites
- Work from home primarily, but available to travel up to 25% if needed.
