Documentation and communication: Create, refine, and improve documentation for Ansible users, contributors, and maintainers. Publish periodic community and partner engineering newsletters. Administer the Ansible Forum, managing groups and tags based on community requests. Regularly communicate with project stakeholders including other Red Hat engineering teams, community maintainers, product managers, consultants, and senior leadership. Working in the Ansible ecosystem: Explore, identify, and document issues and pain points within the Ansible community. Advocate for the resolution of critical issues and communicate the impact to other Red Hat engineering teams. Help Red Hat teams and the Ansible community work collaboratively to improve the quality of automation content such as playbooks, roles, and modules. Collaborate with Red Hat partners by maintaining quality checks in the release pipeline for Ansible Galaxy and Automation Hub. Promote good coding practices and assist both the Ansible community and Red Hat strategic partners in the development and testing of automation content. What you will bring Exceptional interpersonal skills: Community thrives on daily interactions. In this role you must be friendly, inclusive, and ready to engage with a diverse range of technical professionals. You also need to tolerate a lot of context switching and be a good multi-tasker. Strong communication: Excellent written and verbal English language skills. Open source experience: Significant contributions to at least one open source project (code, documentation, promotion, or community participation). Hands-on experience using Ansible to manage infrastructure or systems. Experience writing Ansible playbooks and roles, developing modules, or releasing collections. Python skills: Solid coding experience with Python. Comfortable with command-line git workflows: Whether participating in discussions during code review or using GitHub Actions to improve code quality, you understand shared success and know how to drive towards an outcome. Community-minded: A genuine desire to foster a welcoming and active open source community. Proactive and creative: You're a self-starter who identifies opportunities for improvement and takes initiative. Collaborative spirit: While often working independently, you value teamwork and contribute to a supportive team environment.
