  • Description
  • We’re seeking a Senior Manager of Affinity Partnerships to lead the growth, retention, and engagement strategies that drive UST (Unemployment Services Trust) Workforce Solutions’ affinity partner network. In this role, you’ll build and strengthen relationships with executive leaders from UST’s top partners and other key influencers in the nonprofit sector by helping expand trust membership and ensuring the long-term success of the program.
  • You’ll play a hands-on role in identifying and developing new affinity relationships, managing the full business development cycle from proposal to contract execution. The ideal candidate is a strategic relationship-builder who understands how to align business goals with partner success. You’ll also elevate UST’s brand and market presence, both directly by representing UST at industry events and conferences, and indirectly, by empowering our partners and allies to promote the value of UST’s offerings.
  • Responsibilities

New Partner Acquisition

  • - Identifying potential business/affinity partners that would benefit from working with UST.
  • - Meet with decision makers to position UST as the solution for their membership programs.
  • - Follow up on all affinity partner opportunities that are referred to UST by other sources.
  • - Work with internal staff to provide proposals to new partners and to respond to requests for proposals.
  • - Execute new business contracts between UST and new partners.
  • - Determine new channels for engaging with potential partners.

Partner Engagement & Retention

  • - Retention of existing business by maintaining positive relationships with UST’s 60+ affinity partners.
  • - Supports dashboard building and regular reporting of partnership KPIs.
  • - Assess individual partner success based on key criteria that this role will create.
  • - Develop annual plans for partner success and growth with a focus on the Key KPIs that will drive growth for UST membership.
  • - Assess individual partner success based on key KPIs that support UST member growth.
  • - Handle affinity partner complaints and/or escalations from initiation to resolution.

Operational and Analytical

  • - Leads the planning with the Senior Marketing Leader and UST Executive Leadership to determine framework for the UST affinity partner strategies.
  • - Develop the working materials for affinity partner presentations, dashboard reporting, and reports to engage key stakeholders.
  • - Plans and participates in local/regional/national industry events that create recognition of the programs and promote the UST brand.
  • - Maintain broad base strong relationships with the Trust Leadership, Service Providers and both Nonprofit and Business leaders culminating in strong brand recognition and trust growth opportunities.
  • - Assists in determining account-based marketing targets.
  • - Reports key trends and issues affecting partners and the nonprofit sector to the UST team.
  • - Works to ensure AGIA and client objectives are balanced.
  • - Works cross-functionally across the UST service team, helping to ensure that voice of the customer is well-represented, messaging is consistent, and customer feedback loops are closed.
  • - Other duties as assigned.

Travel

  • - Up to 20% domestic travel.
  • Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, economics or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year managing partner relationships preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of affinity partner programs & relationships.
  • Knowledge of sales and the selling process.
  • Strong relationship building skills as evidenced by prior experience with sales, customer service and relationship account management.
  • Experience in nonprofit partnerships is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills in small and large group settings.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft systems, CRMs and other data management systems.
