We employ approximately 200 people.
  • POSITION OVERVIEW
  • We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our lean accounting and finance team. This is a unique opportunity for a driven professional ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a planned leadership transition and will be mentored directly by our retiring Chief Financial Officer.
  • Over the next 18 months, the Senior Accountant will be trained to assume full responsibility for the Controller position. As part of this transition, the CFO role will be eliminated and its responsibilities strategically redistributed across the organization. The Controller will take on the key accounting leadership responsibilities, with no new CFO position planned.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • * Prepare and analyze accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • * Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and expense analysis
  • * Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded
  • * Manage and maintain the fixed asset register, including tracking additions, disposals, and calculating depreciation
  • * Support cost accounting and inventory reconciliation
  • * Assist with local, state, and federal tax filings as well as other regulatory reporting to ensure compliance
  • * Support a wide variety of administrative projects required at a small to medium-sized business
  • * Collaborate with operations and leadership on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • * Contribute to process improvements and system upgrades

* Shadow and learn from the outgoing CFO, gradually assuming supervisory and strategic duties including

  • 1. Development of financial strategies, business planning, and forecasting activities
  • * Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and management of banking relationships
  • * Maintain current internal controls while reviewing, develop, and implementing any new processes and controls as necessary to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy
  • * Lead, manage and mentor the accounting staff
  • * Review corporate insurance and 401(k) alternatives and optimize effectiveness for the company and its employees
  • * Give input on company-wide HR issues as needed
  • * Advise on extension of credit to customers
  • QUALIFICATIONS 
  • * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required)
  • * 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing
  • * Strong understanding of GAAP
  • * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to non-financial managers
  • * Proven ability to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and make informed recommendations
  • * Self-starter with demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor staff, and take initiative
  • * Ability to work independently in a small team environment
