Hello! We are creating a high-retention YouTube documentary (~10-12 minutes). We have a well-researched, compelling narrative and have already completed a rough cut with the main interview footage laid out. We are looking for a talented and creative video editor to transform this rough cut into a visually dynamic, emotionally resonant, and highly engaging final video that is optimized for YouTube retention. Our goal is to blend historical storytelling with modern, fast-paced editing techniques. Scope of Work & Responsibilities: + Take our ~10-minute rough cut (synced interview footage) and elevate it into a polished, final video. + Weave in a large library of archival B-roll, including photos, original VC pitch decks, and behind-the-scenes footage. + Create clean, modern, and compelling motion graphics and text overlays to visualize key concepts and break up talking head segments (as guided by our detailed script). + Master the pacing and rhythm of the edit, knowing when to build tension, when to let a moment breathe, and how to keep the story moving forward. + Integrate music and sound design to enhance the emotional impact of the story. + Perform color correction and grading to ensure a consistent, professional look. What We Will Provide: + A detailed, scene-by-scene script that includes dialogue, specific visual cues, and guidance on music/tone. This is your blueprint. + A ~10-minute rough cut video file with the two main interview tracks already synced and laid out. (We can also provide the Premiere Pro project file if you prefer). + A large folder of archival assets + Access to our Artlist account for sourcing royalty-free music and sound effects, or we can provide specific tracks based on the script's guidance. + A simple branding guide with recommended fonts and color palettes. We are looking for a creative partner who can bring their own expertise, ideas, and artistic flair to the project. The script is your guide, but we encourage you to improve upon it. If you see a better way to visualize a concept, a more impactful place for a montage, a perfect sound effect, or a music cue that gives you chills, we want to hear about it. We value your professional instincts and want this to be a collaborative process where your creativity helps elevate the final product.
