Our Explosive Ordnance (EO) Service's team enables the Australian Defence Force through storage, distribution, maintenance and disposal of these systems, all across Australia. In this dynamic, hands-on role, you serve as the Business Unit Security Officer and represent EO Services and will be integral to maintaining security practices and activities in alignment with contractual requirements and organisational policies and procedures. Working at our Orchard Hills site, on Darug land, your role purpose is to – Ensure compliance with security policies and legislation while maintaining documentation, databases, and purchasing/finance records Coordinate the creation of organisational and site-specific security documentation, including policies, plans, and SOPs Develop, implement, and monitor security systems in accordance with contract requirements and organisational policies Conduct security audits and oversee reporting on security-related compliance audits Manage and monitor security subcontractors and organisational personnel’s security activities Coordinate security incidents and investigations with the Thales Security Team, driving continuous improvement initiatives Lead and manage a small EOS security team, either directly or cross-functionally Conduct site inductions and security briefings for new starters Act as first responder to security incidents, managing response and resolution Participate in ‘On-Call’ duties for unforeseen events as required Your Experience On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours: Relevant experience in security, ideally within an industrial or defence environment, supported by relevant qualifications/ licenses Ideally experience in working in MHF/ high-risk environments Working knowledge and application of security risk assessments and audits Knowledge of trade control as it applies to ITAR and SAMS legislation Knowledge of Commonwealth PSPF/DSPF Regulations and ISO31000 Working knowledge of cyber security and the ISM Working knowledge and application of the DSPP/PSPF Availability for internation and national travel and “On-Call” duties As part of our commitment, we offer: Competitive remuneration + Super + Bonus + Free Medical Insurance Annualised Performance Review Process ThalesFlex – Hybrid work environment Fitness Passport Discount – Access to a network of Gyms across AUS from $15 P/W Employee discounts with a number of affiliates (Travel, Car hire, Tech, Medical Insurance) Modernised Paid Parental Leave Veterans Leave Novated Lease options Family support through our partnership with Parents at Work Personal & professional training development opportunities Sonder – Wellbeing & Support Partner We are recognised as a Family Friendly Workplace.
