About the role
What you will do
- Monitor security systems, including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, for potential security incidents. Analyze security logs and alerts to identify suspicious activities or potential security breaches.
- Operational Support - Participate in security incident response activities, including triage, analysis, and resolution of security incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and scans to identify security weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities to reduce the organization’s risk exposure. Coordinate with IT partners to implement patches and updates to address security vulnerabilities. Responsible for generating vulnerabilty reports and disseminating them to the organization.
- Incident Detection and Response - Provides second- and third-level support and analysis during and after a security incident. Guides security administrators and IT staff in the resolution of reported security incidents. Participates in security investigations and compliance reviews, as requested by internal or external auditors. Acts as a liaison between incident response leads and subject matter experts
- Audit Support - Receives audit findings, and manages the collection of responses and remediation plans with owners. Works within the information security governance process to define control recommendations that are both efficient and effective. Provides oversight and management of audit finding remediation, including generating requirements for full remediation, providing feedback and suggestions on managerial responses to findings, and tracking progress and providing status and updates to the enterprise compliance team for reporting purposes.
- Definition and Implementation of Critical Controls - Defines security configuration and operations standards for security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems. Develops and validates baseline security configurations for operating systems, applications, and networking and telecommunications equipment in compliance with government guidelines, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Documentation and Reporting - Maintain accurate documentation of security configurations, procedures, and incident response activities. Assist in preparing security reports and metrics for senior management and stakeholders
- Security Awareness and Training - Develop and deliver security awareness programs and training sessions for employees.Promote a culture of security awareness and best practices throughout the organization. Provide guidance and expertise to enhance security awareness initiatives.

Compensation
Salary Range: $77,600 - $129,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus program.
