  • We are currently seeking a Full-Time Residential Manager to join our team!
  • PURPOSE
  • The purpose of this job is to give individuals with developmental disabilities the support to live as independently as possible, while ensuring high quality services are provided and ensuring their health and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES included, but not limited to

Staff Training & Supervision

  • Supervise house staff; ensure full coverage and scheduling of staff, according to the individual's needs and budgeted hours
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for DSPs
  • Conduct ongoing performance management of DSPs; implement conflict resolution as needed.
  • Train and orient new DSPs. Complete orientation checklist.
  • Provide and document all on site staff training on an ongoing basis. Perform on the job training and supervision of DSPs on the DSPs shift at least once per quarter. Document training on an individual training, accountability sheet.
  • Ensure that DSPs are trained on client's Behavior Support Plan. Implement as written and ensure that DSPs are implementing the behavior support plan as written and trained and are completing behavior tracking thoroughly and accuratel
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly house meetings to include individuals served and DSPs. Ensure DSP attendance. Complete house meeting notes and all required training.
  • Complete and present Performance Improvement Plans for DSPs when needed.
  • Complete DSP's annual evaluation and review performance.

Providing Services

  • Maintain constant and ongoing communication with individual's support team.
  • Serve as first point of contact for all emergency situations. Serve as first responder if presence is needed.
  • Ensure medical and dental appointments, both routine and acute, are scheduled, attended, properly documented and that follow up occurs as ordered.
  • Work with individuals and ISP team to obtain community connections, resources, and develop natural supports.
  • Complete pre-ISP summary and submit to supervisor for approval 30 days before the ISP meeting.
  • Act as provider representative in the development of Individual Support Plan (ISP).
  • Ensure that the ISP is implemented as written, progress is being tracked, and lack of progress is being reported to ISP team.
  • Teach and monitor individuals in all areas of independent living according to ISP and Service Plan of Care. Ensure that all DSPs are using evidence-based teaching procedures to reach and maintain maximum level of independence according to each individual served.
  • Attend meetings as requested for each individual, offering feedback on progress made and areas of need.
  • Provide transportation using a privately owned vehicle or an agency vehicle as needed for individuals to and from appointments, family visits, recreational and social outings, etc.
  • Oversee all medical procedures and medical protocols and ensure the individual's health and safety.
  • Maintain a full-time, flexible schedule with at least 20 hours per week of direct support as part of the house's budgeted staffing ratio. Provide backup coverage as necessary to ensure proper staffing ratios.

Regulatory Compliance and Household Management

  • Ensure all HFRD, CLA, DBHDD and Medicaid regulations are met. Report areas of concern to supervise.
  • Ensure Therap progress notes and all other individual & house documentation is complete, thorough and accurate. Ensure DSPs complete required documentation on paper or in electronic records system as indicated.
  • Ensure HRST documentation is completed in Therap monthly
  • Ensure emergency fact sheets are complete, accurate and located in proper areas. Ensure emergency fact sheets are updated in the on-call book.
  • Perform at least one unannounced visit to site on an alternate shift at least once per month. Email thorough summary of visit to the DSP on shift with a copy to supervisor. Leave a message on the supervisor's desk phone from the house phone at the time of visit to document the date and time.
  • Maintain agency vehicle (e.g. Ensure routine maintenance such as oil changes and tune ups are done and the vehicle is washed and vacuumed). Take vehicle to shop as directed by the fleet manager.
  • Keep track of house maintenance and service needs. Report repair needs. Execute routine maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure maintenance issues are reported to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all financial ledgers are completed accurately and submitted to the supervisor.
  • Ensure DSPs submit all required documentation as requested to maintain compliance.

General

  • Participate in the division's on-call phone rotation. Respond to emergency calls as specified in the emergency response procedure.
  • Attend mandatory all staff meetings, Residential Manager Meetings, and any other trainings or meetings as required.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor on the individual's progress, issues and concerns as they arise.
  • Meet all deadlines.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • The ability to organize, mediate, to be creative, multitask, empathetic, and willing to learn. This includes the development of plans, completion of assessments and daily documentation. Must have knowledge of counseling techniques, behavior modification strategies, medical and psychological aspects of disabilities, able to use the English language, and communicate clearly. Must be able to manage time effectively, to work alone and as a team member. Must have a current Georgia State Driver's License and insured privately owned vehicle.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred, preferably in the area of human services. Must have at least one year of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. Residential experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred
  • Candidates who are selected for employment must successfully complete a pre-employment background screening as well as a pre-employment drug screening. Employment will be contingent upon the satisfactory completion of both the background check and the drug screening. Additionally, if applicable, tuberculosis testing (TB) and fingerprinting may also be required.
