  • Are you a seasoned natural gas compressor expert looking to leverage your field experience in a fully remote, analytical role? We’re seeking a Remote Diagnostic Technician to join our team, monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting compressor units and related equipment to maximize uptime and performance. This role allows you to use your technical expertise without the physical demands of fieldwork, collaborating closely with operations teams to solve complex problems.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot natural gas compressor units and related equipment remotely using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
  • Identify issues, determine root causes, and provide actionable recommendations to field teams to maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Serve as a technical authority on engines and compressors, including Caterpillar, Cummins, Waukesha, and Ariel units.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, district managers, and field technicians to resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of diagnostics, service recommendations, and equipment performance.
  • Contribute to a high-performance, problem-solving team environment.

  • Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in gas/diesel engines or compressors preferred.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with natural gas compressors, engines, or related equipment (large horsepower compressors a plus).
  • Deep understanding of Caterpillar, Cummins, Waukesha, and Ariel equipment and systems.
  • Comfortable using diagnostic software such as Cat ET, Waukesha ESP, Ariel Performance, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mechanical skills—able to think critically and work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly convey complex technical concepts.
  • Detail-oriented, safety-minded, and committed to quality.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; employment contingent upon background check and drug screening.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times (e.g., for office supplies, small equipment). Ability to move about the office to access files, office equipment, or attend meetings. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, printers).May occasionally need to bend, reach, or stoop within the work area. Work is performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting and climate control.
