About

We are a well-established home-services company seeking a highly reliable and detail-obsessed QuickBooks Online bookkeeper. Our current bookkeeper is transitioning out, and we need someone who can maintain our existing system, elevate documentation standards, and ensure absolute accuracy across multiple accounts. We operate on QBO, with weekly deposits, financing paperwork, multiple bank and credit card accounts, and recurring weekly and monthly financial reporting requirements. Payroll is processed through TruPay and forwarded through our HR manager for journal entries. This role begins January 2. Expect 15 hours per week during onboarding, then 8–12 hours weekly once you are fully ramped. Responsibilities • Maintain and improve our existing QBO structure rather than rebuild it from scratch • Weekly reconciliation of all accounts including: ⁃ Operating bank accounts ⁃ Credit cards ⁃ Vendor bills ⁃ Customer deposits ⁃ Loan payments • Handle AR and AP to the best of your ability • Enter payroll journal entries based on reports provided by HR • Prepare and deliver a weekly financial reporting package and send it to HR and our COO • Produce monthly financials including: ⁃ P&L ⁃ Balance sheet ⁃ Cash flow ⁃ Budget vs actual • Perform monthly closing entries including accruals, amortization, and depreciation • Reconcile financing payouts to the extent needed and review the historical cadence in QBO • Maintain documentation standards, including written explanations of all journal entries • Create a complete SOP book covering all accounting processes so this system is fully scalable • Manage financial document storage within Google Drive • Interact with our CPA as needed and ensure clean handoff of books • Proactively flag discrepancies, unusual transactions, or process gaps Requirements • Extensive QuickBooks Online experience • Understanding of construction or home-services accounting, including cost flows, deferred revenue, and production-related expenses • ZERO-error tolerance, strong attention to detail, and ability to independently catch and correct mistakes • Ability to respond same-day, with twice-weekly check-ins during onboarding • Strong written communication, particularly in documenting entries and SOPs • CPA or QBO ProAdvisor credentials are a plus Tools we use • QuickBooks Online • TruPay payroll • Google Drive • WhatsApp and email for communication Workload • 15 hours per week during onboarding • 8–12 hours per week ongoing • Hours will scale gradually as our business grows About Us We are a large, established home-services company (~$8M) with high transaction volume and strict financial accuracy requirements.
