• In this role, you’ll play a critical part in shaping project success from day one - analyzing blueprints, calculating materials and labor, and developing competitive proposals that balance precision, profitability, and client satisfaction. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, sales teams, and clients to ensure every bid reflects our reputation for craftsmanship, reliability, and excellence.

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents to define scope and deliver accurate estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs across diverse flooring products including carpet, vinyl, tile, wood, and specialty finishes.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive and compliant bids.
• Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to align estimates with project goals, timelines, and client expectations.
• Participate in bid reviews and strategy sessions to strengthen competitiveness and profitability.
• Maintain organized bid files, cost data, and historical pricing for ongoing reference and continuous improvement.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required to validate project conditions and clarify scope.
• Support project handoffs and compare estimated vs. actual costs to drive accuracy and learning for future bids.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout the proposal and award process.
• Ensure all estimates meet company standards and align with safety, quality, and profitability goals.
• Requirements
• Education, Experience & Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in construction management or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant estimating or construction experience; commercial flooring experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and takeoff software (experience creating templates and formulas preferred).
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
• Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong vendor and client relationships.
• Reliable, proactive, and eager to contribute to a collaborative, success-driven environment.
• Work Environment
• Primarily office-based role with occasional site visits and pre-bid meetings.
• Requires extended computer use and ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Fast-paced environment with periodic bid deadlines and shifting priorities.
