About

We are a leading global company specializing in electronics repair and reverse logistics. We have just completed a detailed physical teardown of a toy consumer electronic device, and have a set of 96 photos of every component and PCB. We are looking for a technical expert to help us finalize our analysis and create documentation for our repair technicians. This project has three main deliverables: 1. Bill of Materials (BOM) Validation & Enhancement: Attached is a draft BOM and the full set of teardown photos. Your task is to: -Perform a "virtual teardown" using the photos to validate every component in our BOM. -Cross-reference our identifications of the main ICs (MCU, PMIC, Wi-Fi, etc.) and add any smaller "glue logic" ICs, transistors, or diodes we may have missed. -For key components, research and add potential Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPNs) to aid in future sourcing. 2. Strategic Question Development: Attached is our initial list of questions to ask the OEM. From your expert perspective in manufacturing and repair, your task is to: -Review our list and identify any blind spots. -Add new, strategic questions we should ask. -Focus on critical repair-blocking issues: software/firmware serialization (board pairing), supply chain vulnerabilities (sole-sourced vs. commodity parts), and proprietary firmware (e.g., is the NXP Wi-Fi chip flashed with custom firmware?). 3. Exploded Diagram Creation: This is the main visual deliverable. Using the 96 photos as your reference, you will: -Create a clean, professional, 2D or 3D exploded diagram (similar to an iFixit guide or a product manual). -The diagram must clearly show the full assembly "stack" and how the main sub-assemblies (enclosure, battery, MLB, UX board, speaker) fit together. -Label each key component with a number that corresponds to the final BOM. Final deliverable: High-resolution vector file (AI, SVG, or high-res layered PNG/PSD). Ideal Freelancer Skills: -Required: Strong background in Electrical Engineering (EE), specifically with PCB-level component identification. -Required: Proven skill in Technical Illustration or 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Adobe Illustrator, etc.). -Strong understanding of product design, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and reverse engineering principles. -Bonus: Experience with consumer electronics, particularly audio devices or children's toys.
