  • As a Platforms DevOps Engineer, you will make an impact by shaping the company’s technology landscape. By enabling tools, frameworks, and best practices, you will directly impact how development teams deliver products faster, more securely, and with greater scalability. Your contributions will influence technology direction across the organization, streamline operations, and create self-service capabilities that empower engineers to innovate without barriers. This role is key to driving adoption of modern platforms, building resilience into infrastructure, and ensuring that technology investments translate into business value. You will be a valued member of our Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with our Senior Manager.

In this role, you will

  • • Design, implement, test, and maintain tools and processes for build, deployment, and configuration management.
  • • Ensure accessibility, security, reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructure.
  • • Administer tools and processes to build, test, deploy, and monitor software.
  • • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations.
  • • Act as the final line of support for services and applications in production.
  • • Evangelize a DevOps culture of automation, self-service, and engineering best practices to enable development teams to go from development to production with minimal effort.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Plano, TX or Pleasanton, CA.   • What you need to have to be considered
  • • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, automation, and/or the software development lifecycle, with 3+ years working with Azure.
  • • Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, build/deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Spinnaker), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Istio, Docker).
  • • Proficiency in scripting and programming (Python, shell), infrastructure provisioning (Terraform, Chef, Puppet), and troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
  • • Solid understanding of cloud systems (Azure, GCP), networking protocols, and databases (Postgres, MySQL, Redis).
  • • Hands-on experience with frameworks, microservices, RESTful services, API management, and security best practices.
  • • Passion for open-source technologies, building reusable libraries, and enabling developer productivity.
  • • Ability to work effectively in Agile teams, collaborate across platforms and languages, and continuously learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • These will help you stand out
  • • Experience with DevOps CI/CD platforms such as Harness, CloudBees, or GitHub Actions.
  • • Familiarity with testing frameworks like Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
  • • Development experience with Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
  • • Knowledge of Windows platforms alongside Linux.
  • • Exposure to additional public cloud environments beyond Azure and GCP (e.g., AWS).

Salary and Other Compensation

  • Applications will be accepted until September 7, 2025.
  • The annual salary for this position is between $114,000 - $133,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
  • This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
