  • Medix Infusion is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Order Entry Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately entering medication orders into the system, coordinating with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure timely and precise medication processing, and supporting the overall workflow of our infusion pharmacy.
  • Medix Infusion is a technology-driven healthcare platform enhancing patient care and access to infusion therapies, specializing in disease management and infusion pharmacy services for chronic and acutely ill patients, especially in underserved communities. We offer personalized home and in-suite infusion therapies, ensuring convenience and comfort. Our expert team provides a comprehensive range of treatments, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectables, making each patient’s journey as smooth as possible.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • · Accurately enter medication and prescription orders into electronic health records and pharmacy systems.
  • · Review orders for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness.
  • · Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to clarify and resolve medication order discrepancies.
  • · Prepare and prioritize order queues to ensure timely processing of prescriptions.
  • · Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • · Assist with inventory management and restocking as needed.
  • · Support pharmacy operations to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • · Document and report any errors or issues encountered during order entry.
  • · Under direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist, locates medication and strength, measures appropriate quantity, places in container, and correctly labels.
  • · Obtains medical supplies from stock to fill patient orders.
  • · Ensures medications and packages are reviewed by licensed Pharmacist prior to being dispensed.
  • · Maintains dispensing records for medications, supplies, and equipment.
  • · Following USP 797 standards, assists with maintenance of all appropriate pharmacy logs and documents accordingly.
  • · Inspects pharmacy areas and maintains storage standards set by organization, accrediting body state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • · Monitors and retrieves discontinued or expired medications from stock and processes them out of inventory per policy and procedure.
  • · Participates in monthly and cycle inventory count processes.
  • · In all activities, complies with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • · Other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • · High school diploma.
  • · 2-4 years of higher education with emphasis in the sciences preferred.
  • · Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Texas.
  • · Previous experience in pharmacy order entry or similar healthcare setting is a plus.
  • · A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
  • · Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • · Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • · Proficiency with pharmacy software and electronic health records.
  • · Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
