About

Project Overview We are developing a custom PCB to supply power, manage system control logic, and relay performance/diagnostic data to the cloud. Connectivity will be enabled through a Particle IoT module (e.g., Particle Boron, Photon, or equivalent with cellular/WiFi options). This project requires an engineer who can take the concept from requirements through schematic, layout, prototyping, and bring-up testing. Responsibilities: Design a PCB that: • Provides stable power conversion from the specified input voltage to required system and logic voltages. • Interfaces with sensors, relays, and control signals needed for system operation. • Incorporates a Particle IoT module for data transmission to the cloud. • Includes protection features (e.g., overcurrent, transient, thermal) for reliable operation in industrial environments. • Develop schematics, PCB layout, and BOM. • Recommend components with high availability (preferably from JLCPCB or equivalent for assembly). • Deliver Gerber files, manufacturing-ready design files, and assembly documentation. • Support prototype testing and troubleshooting. Required Skills & Experience: • Strong background in PCB design and embedded hardware development. • Experience with power electronics (AC/DC or DC/DC conversion, current protection). • Familiarity with IoT integration, ideally with Particle chips (Boron, Photon, etc.). • Knowledge of industrial system design (reliability, environmental conditions, safety). • Proficiency with PCB design software (e.g., Altium, KiCAD, Eagle). • Ability to select cost-effective, readily available components. • Strong communication skills for iterative design collaboration. Deliverables: • Full schematic and PCB design package. • Bill of Materials with sourcing recommendations. • Design documentation for system integration. Nice-to-Have: • Experience with cloud-connected industrial or environmental IoT systems. • Firmware development • Familiarity with sensor integration (temperature, pressure, humidity, ORP, current sensing). • Prior work with JLCPCB assembly constraints.
