Role Overview: Boutique beauty PR agency is seeking an experienced Payroll & HR professional to manage our payroll and HR functions on an ongoing basis. Ideally this candidate will have hands-on experience with Gusto, New York labor law compliance, and employee benefits programs. Looking for someone who can manage payroll, timesheets, HR compliance, benefits administration, etc. Key Responsibilities: • Payroll Management: Process payroll for full-time employees and contractors via Gusto, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations. • Timesheet Monitoring: Review and track employee timesheets for accuracy and timely submission. • HR Compliance: Maintain HR policies, ensure compliance with labor laws, and handle HR-related issues professionally. • Benefits Administration: Source and set up employee benefits for the company, including health insurance, HRAs, 401(k) plans, and other employee benefit programs. Ensure all employees are informed about their options and have access to the resources they need to understand and use their benefits effectively. • Benefits Tracking: Set up and manage employee benefits in Gusto, including PTO, sick days, and holidays. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of benefits usage across all employees. • Onboarding & Offboarding: Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for employees. Experience: • Experience managing payroll and HR for small businesses or agencies. • Expert knowledge of Gusto. • Familiarity with New York state labor laws, payroll taxes, worker’s compensation, benefits programs (health insurance, HRA, 401k), and compliance requirements. • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and discretion. • Prefer someone on the East Coast/NYC but open to others.
