Day - 08 Hour (United States of America) Job Summary The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for scheduling/admitting services; including scheduling/rescheduling patients for call backs, biopsies and stereotactic exams. Verifies insurance information and registers the patient. Back-office duties include assisting mammography technologist during stereotactic exam, cleaning the room after the procedure, getting specimen ready for the lab. Other office duties include; performing updates in the Epic, Powerscribe, GE PACS, digitizing films, burning CDs and uploading images to our system. Assists Nurse Navigator with coordination of patient care, phone calls and tracking information. Essential Functions The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a description of comprehensive duties. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Knows procedure for stereotactic/biopsy exams to manage the coordination process in an effective, timely manner. Schedules call backs, biopsies, stereotactic exams and needle localization which includes coordinating with surgery and radiologist schedule. Reviews patient instructions for biopsies pre and post with patient. Blocks and or/reschedule patient time on the schedule for procedures done in the office. Assists technologist with stereotactic exam and helps with patient needs during the exam. Cleans and disinfects exam table, equipment and room. Operates all equipment necessary for the job and keeps in good working order, calling for service when necessary. Maintains record management: transcribing and linking appointments to patient orders. Accurately processes and tracking images that are acquired including ordering of priors and tracking pending priors. Tracks images in Epic and GE PACS. Checking to make sure images uploaded correctly which includes merging. Assists Nurse Navigator with tracking information. Ensures the daily review of email system for department communications. Participates in department in-service programs. Performs education modules monthly and HealthStream education when due. Assists with inventory and replacement of supplies by ordering or notifying supervisor. Attends huddles and mandatory in-service meetings. Accepts assignment of other duties as needed, receives training and/or orientation. Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Healthcare – ValleyCare’s patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions Job Qualifications Education AA Degree preferred Experience Two Years medical office experience preferably in Women’s Imaging/mammography. Current American Heart Association BLS Certification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication skills. Excellent phone and computer skills. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Working knowledge of insurance terminology. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $25.76 - $34.00 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
