- The Patient Account Specialist/ Third Party Biller Job Summary is:
- Responsible to the Organizational Administration for the overall Third Party Biller functionality and accuracy. Completes all functions in a timely, efficient manner to insure optimal processing in a minimal amount of time. Duties include billing, collection of payments, remittance to accounts, filing appeals, along with assisting in other accounting functions and tasks as assigned and is noted in full job description. This person will report to Business Office Supervisor and CFO. Follow HIPAA requirements by law and Memorial Hospital policies.
- Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or adequate formal education and organizational experience to complete insurance billings in a friendly and courteous manner. The education and/or experience to become proficient in these skills.
- Experience: Minimum of one year hospital or office experience.
- Job Knowledge: Knowledge of computer applications, business principles, typing/keyboarding, effective communication skills, and other business related ethics. General knowledge of overall business office functions essential. Within 90 days of employment, employee must demonstrate knowledge competency and proficiency in preforming the duties of the position as outlined in the job summary and duties. Thereafter, employee must continue to maintain knowledge, competency and proficiency in these skills. Follow HIPAA requirements by law and Memorial Hospital policies.
- Requires: On-site work, vaccination's per CDC, CMS or IDPH

- Physical Demands:
- Sits, types, reaches, operates keyboard, photocopier, telephone and other office equipment up to 90% of the day. Lifts, carries, stoops, bends, and operates light office equipment, up to 10% of the day. Normal range of hearing and eyesight are required. Has the ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions. Adapts willingly and effectively to change. Travels outside the organization to meetings when necessary. On occasion is required to lift boxes of paper and files approximately 15 pounds. Required to professionally and compassionately conduct phone conversations.
