- This role is a Part Time role and the scope of work will primarily surround WINTERIZING HYDROVACS at site, in Cheyenne, WY. The hours anticipated for this role will be up to 4 hours per day, up to 6 days per week. The expected hours or work are going to be late afternoons into the evening.
- This role will be led by the Primary Fleet Mechanic or Hydrovac Fleet Manager. These individuals will direct specifically the activities expected to be preformed by the PT Winterization Mechanic; the sought candidate would have the below skillset. As well as experience with the winterization of Hydrovacs and other equipment, or may be able to get up to speed quickly.
- Roles and Responsibilities (Primary is in bold)
- Winterize onsite equipment daily, instruction and expecatation to be defined from Primary Fleet Mechanic or Hydrovac Fleet Manager.
- Expanded opportunities as defined by organizational need (Emergency Support onsite)
- Maintain service operations by inspecting and maintaining vehicles through troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Must have the knowledge to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical issues with a variety of diesel trucks and trailers.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, backhoes, dozers, forklifts, trucks and skid steers is preferred.
- Small engine repair – tampers, pumps, etc.
- Experience with hydraulic systems.
- Maintaining equipment by listening to operator input, conducting inspections, repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions; replacing parts and components on all heavy equipment.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies and performing preventive maintenance.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during machine service.
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
- Ability to keep company proprietary information confidential
- Qualifications: * 3+ years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent quality work.
- Ability to define goals, meet urgent deadlines, organize, and prioritize projects.
- Must meet attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
- Flexible to work off hours, overtime, and weekends, in an industrial environment which may include being outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently and multitask.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen test and background check.
- Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace.
- Knowledge of safety standards for motor vehicles and equipment.
- Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry.
- Licensure And Certification
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - preferred.
- Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Required)
- Driver's License (Required)
- Willingness to travel, 25% (Preferred)

Safety: This position requires the following personal protective equipment
- Safety glasses.
- Hard toe work boots.
- High visibility safety vest.
- Other protective equipment as required.
- Lifting and Environmental Requirements
- Lift up to 75lbs regulary, 100lbs infrequently, and heavier weights in a team lift scenario.
- Equipment is going to be outdoors in Cheyenne, WY or near to; you will be required to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and be prepared for the potential weather conditions.
- This role will be exposed to the elements and will be provided certain PPE, in alignment with Site Requirements and company policy.
